"Founder's Edition" of the Tyrannosaurus. I can't help but feel this offering would be more enticing if it had an exclusive / more premium paint job.

Joliezac

Hoping to get more info soon. Is just this version limited? Or all the Rexes? Because it sounds like this is the same as the normal release just with some extra cards, a special box, and signed art.

PNSO Museum Line much?

QuoteThe Everything Dinosaur Evolution T. rex 1:33 scale, scientifically accurate dinosaur model will be available in two versions:

Collector's Edition - £99.99 (including UK VAT, but excluding postage)
Founder's Edition - £119.99 (including UK VAT, but excluding postage)

I think i just threw up in my mouth. It's a cool figure... but all of my desire to get one just vanished. I don't think we're gonna end up getting that Hatzegopteryx guys

That is eye wateringly expensive. Other popular ~1/35 rex figures by comparison:
BotM: £72.99
PNSO: £54.99
Rebor: £47.99
HLG: £33.99
Eofauna: £27.99
CollectA / Safari: £23.99

As much as I want to love this rex, I'm not sure it justify's its price... The competition is stiff in the rex market.

I really wanted to support this line, but I just can't for that price.

And I unfortunately fear this whole endeavour won't be going very far unless those prices fall by at least 50%, which is a huge shame.

Faelrin

I'll be brutally honest, but I don't think the quality lives up to the price point in either sculpt or paint. When even PNSO's Cameron costs less, or the BotM articulated one, you have a problem here. I think the BotM, PNSO (lack of lips aside), and Eofauna have surperior skin and scale detail.

It's made in UK right? This is why it must be impossible to compete with things made in China.

Carnoking

Well... it was a nice idea anyway.

It says "designed/developed in the UK". That is not the same as made in the UK.

I'm not sure it's actually made in the UK.

You could buy 2 Camerons for a £10 cheaper price than one of the Founder's edition

Wow... the cheap one is W-Dragon's Stan + REBOR's Kiss + 5 Jurassic World Minis.

Me want, but you crazy, Everything Dinosaur.

Pliosaurking

While it's a nice figure, and I love everything dinosaur, the price is too much for what you get imo.

Too many issues when considering the price.

Makes Showanna's Scottie look like a bargain.

Joliezac

I really wanted to support this line, but if this is the price of the rex, I can't see myself getting any of these figures. Nor do I see the line continuing. Which is a shame, I really love Everything Dinosaur.

Or buy a Cameron and get it lipped, getting arguably the ultimate in mass production rexes. Also I bought the Eofauna Sue for its rock bottom price and for a few dollars more (and I mean a few only), got the seam at the rear of the skull flawlessly removed to produce a splendid figure for a super modest price. This pricing of ED is more than a bit surprising.

Trenchcoated Rebbachisaur

Well damn. That's not only not a competitive price, that's a price that makes you start looking into cheap 3D Printer options. Love everythingdinosaur too (their service is great) but, good god. I am definitely not willing to buy a low-detail 30ish scale T.rex for the price tier where other mass produced static figures start competing with the sizes of newborns.

After much thought, I'd like to clarify.

The pricing is outrageous, UNLESS each 'trim level' comes with significant extras. We all know the extra stuff PNSO sticks in the MUSEUM Series boxes. Everything Dinosaur's "Collector's Edition" had better (hypothetically) come with a sweet booklet (like SERIOUSLY sweet), some nice art, and an exclusive colorway that is only on that edition. The "Founder's Edition" should include all you get with the Collector's Ed., plus its own exclusive colorway, a scaled skull a'la Cameron, AND  be a signed and numbered LIMITED run. 3000pcs at MOST.

Then maybe you can justify the pricing.

Samrukia

thank you very much for the hype, goodbye :||
