#TNG | Paraceratherium 1:35.

Good news for those who were waiting for this figure, they have confirmed that it will not be canceled and have taken the decision to launch a fundraising campaign, which represents a final push to make its production possible.

For, avatar_Nehalennia @Nehalennia , that's very good news indeed, though I'm also proceeding with the partial repaint of the CollectA Paracerathium. Any word yet on the fund-raising initiative initiative by TNG?

Haven't found anything yet, once I do I'll be sure to post it here!

SidB

That's great, look forward to it!

TNG has a Twitter/X account through which they communicate I believe, but I can't find it anywhere (I don't have Twitter myself which limits my search options). Perhaps they disclosed more about the fundraising on there?

"#TNG | Paraceratherium (A crowdfunding)
Material: PVC
Size: 26cm Head to Hip Linear Length x 14.5cm Shoulder High x 8cm Shoulder Width.
Scale: 1:35
Peso: 1kg
"Reason for crowdfunding: Prehistoric TNG creature models have always been greatly appreciated and sought-after by paleontology enthusiasts." Collectors have been waiting for TNG to release a new figure.
On this occasion, the TNG team, driven by a strong sense of mission, has developed the Paraceratherium model, designed by the official sculptor and brand partner, Maestro Song.
However, once the design was finalized, the project was paused due to the scale issue:
The 1:35 scale requires a significant investment, which imposes high risk if a minimum sale is not ensured.
The 1:45 scale implies a minor inversion, but breaks the uniformity with previous TNG figures, impacting the collector's experience.
To reduce the brand's financial pressure and at the same time meet the demand of fans, we decided to turn to the funding campaign. The idea is for the fans themselves to decide whether or not this figure comes to production.
We sincerely hope that the crowdfunding of this TNG figure will be a success! "
The campaign started today and will be active for 46 days. Exclusive to China.
For anyone wondering what the problem is: the thing is that producing this figure in 1:35 scale requires a considerable investment and generally selling dinosaurs in that format is not more difficult, but when it comes to prehistoric megafauna, the commercial risk is much higher." - Paleofiguras

I sure hope that the crowdfunding campaign is successful AND that these figures will be ultimately available outside of China.

Thanks for posting avatar_Flaffy @Flaffy! Rooting for exactly  what S @SidB said. It's such a beauty.

Man, I want that Paraceratherium!

It may be wishful thinking, but I have half a mind to try and reach out to dinosdragons in China and see if there is some way folks outside of China can add to the crowdfunding. Is that a crazy idea?

Is it my imagination, or was there a TNG woolly rhino in the works as well?

Dinosdragon is based in Singapore...

I am too and we have pretty easy access to Chinese shopping apps

avatar_Flaffy @Flaffy Damn, it looks magnificent in those pics. TNG mammals is one collection i will definitely have completed. Ordered Elasmotherium quite late tho. Waiting for Arsinotherium and Paraceratherium patiently. Btw im curious, will they be rolling out only with the grey color variation or with black one aswell? Im fan of greyish variation because Walking With Beasts and generally its more natural looking. Arsinotherium is gonna be more darker then.

Duke Dino

Thanks for the correction JimoAi.

Do you think it's even possible to supplement the crowdfunding from buyers outside of China?

Does anyone know if there already exists a TNG woolly rhino in the pipe? I remembers seeing a picture of a proptotype image in one of the threads here...

Wait, woolly rhino from TNG? You mean another figure besides Elasmotherium?

I recall a series of photos on this site that included the prototype for the Paraceratherium and what looked to be the same for a woolly rhino, but I cannot find it now.

Recall, of course, is often tainted with wishful thinking...

I`ve seen pictures of early sculpts on the forum, they were from Paleofiguras facebook page. It was definitely either Elasmotherium or Arsinotherium, former being already available for purchase. However it would be nice to see a actual woolly rhino from TNG, but they should probably do one terror bird and glyptodont or a cave lion at some point. They are heavily rivaling CollectA and im a big fan of CollectA.

I wish them luck! Crowdfunding for prehistoric mammals has had mediocre outcomes lately.

I really hope this crowdfunding is successful, because the Paraceratherium looks PERFECT! Ever since 7 year old me saw it on Walking with Monsters, I've wanted a good figure of one. Up until now, available figures are either too small, too large, or just don't look right. This one, is everything I'd want. It's 1:35 scale, it's got the right amount of bulk, and it has all of the identifiable features of a rhinocerotoid!

Well ITOY Paraceratherium is the only good model out there, not bad scale wise and its basically WWB design. However its incredibly expensive tho, even on EverythingDinosaur going for about 100$ and even more on LanaTimeShop with the base from what i have seen. TNG will hopefully save us all, i hope its gonna be around 40$, i think its a fair price. Megatherium on AliExpress is around 25$ to 30$.

CollectA is the only company that made recent Paraceratheriums, but they look just really bad. First one that is orange in colour is just uninteresting af and uninspired, while the newest one looks malnourished and like it has mange.

SidB

Well, on the "up" side, this might be an opportunity to start a mange collection. It would be a bit of a niche group, though. Seriously, I sent my CollectA in to my local artist to see what could be done about the odd appearance of this version of the CollectA Para pair. The short trunk is an okay speculative feature for me, but, that said, I too am really looking forward to a 1/35 scale release by TNG..
