A perfectly preserved hadrosaur embryo has been discovered in China. It is revealed in the video that it is the same team which has discovered a perfectly preserved baby oviraptorosaur in December 2021. It is amazing that China holds such breath-taking pieces of the past; births that have been frozen for hundreds of millions of years...

Wow what an incredible find. Wonder what genus it could belong to?

As of now, the genus is unknown. It's  difficult to know a dinosaur's embryo genus, mainly because it is underdeveloped. I shall update this post if I learn of something new about this hadrosaur embryo.

Yeah that makes sense that we might not know. Would be amazing if they were able to find out. Do we at least know the locality and time of it yet?

It was found in China's southern Jiangxi province. The time is not revealed in the video.

I did some digging and found this article, which states 66-72 million years ago, or in other words the Maastrichtian stage of the Late Cretaceous period:

I also came across some other news from last year, discussing a well preserved oviraptorosaur (although missing the skull, etc), including a nest with embryos inside the eggs, also found in the city of Ganzhou. It's possible this species of hadrosaur and oviraptorosaur could have co-existed.

I wonder if there's been anything else found there. I guess I'll keep researching.

I don't have any specific knowledge about this embryo, but a lot of the apomorphic traits of animals tend to show up later in development, which sometimes makes it basically impossible to assign embryos or even juveniles to a taxon known from adults.
