Okay I think I've narrowed down my top 10 finally. This was super hard!

Creative Beast BotM Diabloceratops
Creative Beast BotM Dilophosaurus
Creative Beast BotM Medusaceratops (Fan's Choice)
Creative Beast BotM Styracosaurus (original)
Papo Acrocanthosaurus (2018 repaint)
Play Visions Platyhystrix
PNSO Amargasaurus (2019 version)
PNSO Deinocheirus
PNSO Parasaurolophus
Safari Styracosaurus (2019)

And for what it's worth, I own everything except the Papo Acrocanthosaurus and PNSO Amargasaurus, though I've had them on the wishlist for a fair bit of time.

Despite the above BotM figures all having colors and some patterns inspired by extant animals, there's actually a lot of creative differences that stand out to me, and why I ended up selecting those. For example the Dilophosaurus had color inspiration from the double-crested cormorant, but there's quite a bit of original work going on there that differ (like the crest colors and skin color and patterns, though the blue mouth is totally a feature of the actual bird). It's not a simple 1:1 translation of the animals colors to the figure (like the BotM FC Dromaeosaurus in comparison, among others).

What helped me decide and trim them down was the number of complex patterns and colors. So even though I found things like the BotM Gorgosaurus and PNSO Lambeosaurus really appealing, the former is mostly blue, and the latter is basically green giraffe with a contrasting crest color. The Papo Suchomimus and PNSO Suchomimus are pretty tied for me, and I really did almost consider going for one of those in place of the BotM Dilophosaurus.

And despite the heavy tough competition, I kept the Play Visions Platyhystrix in there. I couldn't not include a near 1:1 in hand representation of an illustration from one of my favorite childhood books. Plagiarism to some degree aside possibly, but dang do I love it. It's even better in hand (then my below poorly lit image shows). It's got quite a nice variation of colors, and the sail of sorts easily leads itself to a variety of colors and patterns. The Eryops and Traidobatrachus from this set are based on illustrations in this book as well (which were credited to Luis Rizo). The below book is an English translation of the original Spanish version, published in 1995, which predates the Play Visions figures by a few years. More info in my instagram post for anyone interested (though I'm sure I've posted it a while back here too, back in Jan 2023 when I obtained the figures, or in one of my very first thread topics here).

Quote from: DinoToyForum on June 10, 2025, 09:28:19 PMOf the painted Invicta sauropods, those two are a bit plain, I'd favour the striped Invicta Mamenchisaurus over those two.  :)
On the whole, I would say that the color scheme of figures dating from the 80's/90's are good, but less sophisticated than the current ones.

Is it possible to suggest a figure that hasn't been released yet ?
If so, I would also like to add the Papo's Edmontosaurus to my list :D

Sim

Figures that are not released are not eligible for these polls.

Sim

The poll is up now!  There are exactly 100 candidates in the poll!

Gwangi

I ended up sticking to my original list with one exception, I swapped the PNSO Dunkleosteus for the Kenner Electronic Dilophosaurus.

Libraraptor

Voted for CollectA Edaphosaurus :) Reserved and yet striking.

Pachyrhinosaurus

Voted for the Battat Tyrannosaurus and a few others. The Battat rex was the first figure I thought of when I saw the thread-- definitely one of my favorites! Didn't nominate any since many of the figures I had in mind were already mentioned. I probably should have nominated some of the other Battats though, given how many great color schemes they have between them.

I voted for:

Battat Dacentrurus.  I love the green and black combination of its plates and spines!

Battat Utahraptor.  It has a realistic and detailed colouration that I find very pleasing!

BotM Dromaeosaurus (brown).  The predatory bird colouration it has works so well for Dromaeosaurus!

BotM Linheraptor.  Its colouration is unlikely for the species but it looks so good!

CollectA Borealopelta.  It has a pleasing colouration which is well-applied and actually based on the real animal's colouration!

Papo Kaprosuchus.  I think this figure has my favourite colouration ever!  It's so rich and the figure's gleaming cold eyes look alive!

PNSO Stegosaurus (museum series adult).  Like others, I initially thought its colouration was overly dull.  But once I had it, I found its colouration looks very organic and naturalistic.

PNSO Suchomimus.  It has an unusually pleasing colouration!

PNSO Therizinosaurus.  The Papo Kaprosuchus has my favourite colouration, but the PNSO Therizinosaurus has the most expertly-done paintjob in my opinion.  The tones used for it and their application to different body parts are something to behold.

Safari Utahraptor (2024).  I know not everyone likes this figure's colouration, but I love it!  This figure might be my favourite figure ever made and a colouration I like contributes to that.

Faelrin

Kind of sad the new Haolonggood Torosaurus, and PNSO Guizhouichthyosaurus and sauropod were just a tad too late for the poll. Granted I don't know if I would have included them in my votes with the tough comp already, but they come close.
