I don't think most people are even aware of the great auk unfortunately. I came across a big beautiful book on the great auk recently at a book sale that must have been a good 2-3" thick. I didn't get it at the time because I figured with limited space I don't need an entire tome about just the great auk. I've regretted it ever since. 

Does anyone make a great auk toy?

I work in an aquarium and right in our lobby there is a beautiful marble statue of two great auks and their egg. There's no sign or plaque around it, so people (many staff included) assume that it's a penguin statue. Such a shame.
