Question about the Rex, from what I can see in the pictures it appears to have very pronounced boney ridges around the eyes, is that accurate and do they prevent the model from having binocular vision. The picture is kind of blurry. Also are Rex's snouts supposed to be long like this model or mor robust? I'm really close to buying this model but just have these issues. Admittedly, I could just be too use to looking at the JP Rex, which I am sick to death of, so some of the skull features on this look so different to what I'm use to seeing. Please don't take this as me being critical of the model, I was just curious as I am not an expert and was hoping for some enlightenment. I apologize if I come off as being critical, it is not my intention.

I personally think you are right, it's a bit blocking the binocular vision. The length also seems a bit longer than the JP style but if you look at a few skull specimens, some are more elongated than others. I think all in all it's a great digital sculpt and print! The Spinosaurus looks really great also!

Questions for everyone here. I'm wondering how viable is the 3D printed market for digital sculpts? I know there are people who prefers hand sculpt in clay even though its more expensive, and some prefer 3D printed since it looks to be a bit cheaper. I'm thinking of taking a stab at the Shapeway...way lol.

Thanks for your input Redonix :) the ridges are something I can modify if it bothers me too much...along with some of the "shrink-wrapping" that's going on at the rear of the skull, I'm glad that it sounds like the length of the skull is in "tolerances"  It really does look like a fantastic figure and I'm always open to new/better interpretations of my favorite dinosaur  :) I'm going to go for it!

As for Shapeways, the Feathered Sue Rex I just ordered a several days ago will be my first Shapeways model. I'll let you know what my opinion of the service is. It does seem like it takes a while for them to get the model out to you though....mine still shows processing but not in production yet.  :(

I ordered the Rex yesterday and just got a notice that it is unable to be printed.  :(

Any help?

You'll have to wait for the artist to tweak the design. It's fairly common for the design to have errors in 3D printing, especially if it's a new, untested design.

That's I figured :)  Strange, though, how it printed for Simon but now it won't. Shapeways seems like it can be very frustrating for artists.

He needs to make the walls thicker, which will increase the cost.  He already did that once for the TRex, but for whatever reason apparently it needs to be even a little thicker.

The Spino printed out fine BTW, its a really pretty and accurate sculpt with shortER (but not ridiculously short) legs, I still need to review it (been real busy)!

Yeah, his Spino is beautiful, it's just a bit out of my price range. If the Rex is going to be even more expensive, though, then it too will probably be out of my price range.  :(

I'll give Manuel the heads up! He is a little busy recently, but I will let him know. Within a few days after he knows, I think it'll address some issues :)
