Hello All!  I am very pleased to be here.  My name is Matt Ramieri, and I am an artist and founder of Ancient Era Artistry.  We make modern paleoart model kits that are (as I call them) "scientifically possible."  While I take every measure to ensure that the science is included and correct, I try to be original (yet measured) with the speculative aspects, and I put a lot of emphasis on character design and sculptural gesture.

I have only recently gotten into paleoart, but I have been an artist (specifically a sculptor) for my entire adult life, and of course, a dinosaur lover.  I sold my business making bronze and pewter awards and trophies in 2018, so now I am lucky enough to be able to pursue that which really brings me happiness... sculpting dinosaurs!  I would love for you to check out my website at:  https://www.ancienteraartistry.com.  All of the models/characters are designed to exist within the same "cosmos," so their stories and circumstances will intertwine.  We are not just making models, we are building a story as well.

I have just begun fulfilling orders for the 1:32 scale "Scent in the Air" model, and fulfillment of the preorders for "Twinning" 1:20 scale (running juvenile t.rexes) will begin very soon. We create and retain fine details using low force sterolithographic resin 3d printing.  This process is designed to retain details with extremely high resolution(.025 MM layer height).  We actually have a very nice machine on location, and we are awaiting the arrival of an even better one with 5 times the build volume.

We are/will be producing models at various scales, miniatures for role-playing, portrait busts, and more.  Right now, everything is T.Rex ( because I had to start with my childhood favorite), but we have a lot coming down the pike.  Next up will be a torosaurus scene, some dromeosaurs, pterosaurs, and sauropods.

We have a "suggest a species" form, which I would love to have you fill out.  Please join our mailing list to stay up to date with what we are doing.  Thanks for spending some time learning about me.  I hope to get to be a part of your collection someday.   ;D

Thanks!

Nice to have you here, Matt.

Your kits look outstanding. Member avatar_Bread @Bread first tipped me off to your kits via a lovely thread praising Omar.

So glad they did, I preordered the Twinning kit and am very exited for it.

Wow, that's great!  Thank you so much for the vote of confidence.  Things have been going quite well the the "Scent in the Air" model kits, and I am also excited to start rolling out the "Twinning" kits.  I actually changed how they mount up with the base, which I think will really make them a lot easier to deal with.  Originally, I had them mount with a peg in the foot and the "splashes" as separate pieces that glue in.  Well, with the prototype, I found it difficult to get them mounted up without stressing the foot pegs or breaking a splash.  So I fused the splashes to the feet and cut out a section of water to make a larger pad that can be glued down into the base.  I expect this to work much better to keep the twins on the intended angle and keep from dealing with very delicate parts.  This is the beauty of having the 3d printing set up.  You can iterate as many times as need be to get things right.

Thanks again for the order!  I have a lot more planned.

Welcome to the forum! You might find it useful to start a thread in the "Classifieds" section of the forum and keep it updated when you have new releases. Good way to get eyeballs.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

Just saw the email with picture updates. Looks good to me! Including the splash with the foot makes sense and is one less piece to have to fiddle with in the end  O:-)

I'll probably still try to pin for extra support, but ensuring as much stability as possible is appreciated.

There's a new, new version lol, with a block under the pad. I don't think it was necessary because the pad fit tightly anyway, but I added it for good measure, just because I don't sleep at night- so all of the production kits will have that as well.  You'll get a QR code to a questionnaire in the box about the kit- I would love for you to provide any feedback whatsoever- good, bad, ugly- so we can improve.

Thanks very much!  I certainly will do that. I will have a torosaurus debuting pretty soon... have a few wrinkles to smooth out yet... or wrinkles to add, as it were, lol.  Then a 1:20 of Limited edition "Scent in the Air" (Adult rex) will be debuting in a month or so after Ben Van Steenberge takes a run at painting it.  SO, I will take you up on that, Halichoeres
