Any legal experts here on the DTF?

Basically, I'm in the process of writing a novel series that involves dinosaurs. I'm still in the world-building stage, but I want to go ahead and try to get what I feel is my intellectual property protected.

There's nothing new under the sun, as Solomon said, and we all know there's only so many plots that involve dinosaurs.

Any insight or recommendations would be appreciated.
