Quote from: andrewsaurus rex on August 10, 2024, 04:16:34 AMdon't think so.    Strange addition, unless it's just for the cyber line but the BOTM figure won't have it?  But i think that unlikely.  Even the plates on the back don't seem right......too sparse.   This is just early stage concept art so hopefully changes can be made.
Reading the comments under the instagram post of this reveal. Similar criticism as you and I have provided.

David stated this is just a WIP/in development sort of mock-up. He also stated how nothing is definitive in regards to the plate assortment and the even newer Miragaia and Dacentrurus being the same genus idea. Which in my eyes, he's definitely not wrong, and I even agree.

As you said A @andrewsaurus rex it's just early concept art and could change easily.

Faelrin

Not sure how many people will be interested in this news, but it was revealed in tonight's stream that a new card game using the package art from both BotM and Cyberzoic is being developed. I grew up collecting Pokemon cards, MTG, Yugioh, so I'm very excited about it.

Painted BotM Stegosaurus wip:

QuoteAaaanndd we're back! The painted prototype for the 1/18th scale Beasts of the Mesozoic Stegosaurus is currently in progress and will debut at LegionsCon in less than 2 weeks! How's that for a Tuesday teaser?

Still planning to go to Legions Con, so I'll probably bring my Mattel Stego on hand to get a size comparison with it when I go there.

Less then a half hour before the live stream starts too.

I like how the stego is looking. My only quibble is that the cream stripe on the neck feels very derivative of the juvenile Tyrannosaurus rex. In fact, the whole color scheme feels reminiscent of that design, which is a little disappointing.
Of course, it's not done and one certainly can't fault the artistry!

Faelrin

David showed more of it off in the stream tonight, and it has some iridescent paint on the plates.

Also Austroraptor was revealed to be coming Cyberzoic (and BotM). Just a silhouette for now. Definitely excited to see that one coming at some point in the future.

The finished colored comic cover was shown too. Acrocanthosaurus looks to be based on the Christmas marine iguana as far as colors goes (which was mentioned way back, so glad to see them sticking with it).

BotM Austroraptor.

From the stream avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin mentioned:

I am so seeing it with common kingfisher (Alcedo atthis) colors!

Faelrin

I saw a lot of folks asking for it to be colored that way. That would be pretty cool to see. Would go nicely with the Jacana colored Buitreraptor as well (although different scale). Still can't believe this one is being done so soon.

It might be really hard to pull off and would probably have extremely limited articulation but a Buitreraptor in the 1:18th scale would be funny to see

Same here, unexpected but appreciated! Interestingly, with Safari's and Creative Beast's Austroraptor, the quantity of unenlagiines in the PVC figure market has experienced a 3-fold increase this year!

Now it's time for the halszkaraptorines to start receiving figure attention!

BTW, I wonder if Gallimimus is still coming. I remember this post by D @David96 :

Quote from: David96 on November 10, 2023, 07:17:05 AMFinally, regarding Gallimimus I wouldn't honestly worry much since David mentioned already that it will come for Cyberzoic and also it's a pretty popular species. So I'd be quite confident that we will get it ;)

Would be quite ecstatic to finally see an accurate Gallimimus.

Well, it is already on the Cyberzoic world and a very popular species so I'd be pretty confident on it coming sooner or later :)

Dilopho

I know this has been discussed in the past, but I can't find it, so let me ask again-

I like the look of the Cyberzoic Allosaurus, will that one be able to be bought without the armour and rider, or is the BOTM one considered the "on its own" release?

Appalachiosaurus and Alioramus by Jake Baardse.

BotM Stegosaurus art by Gabriel Ugueto.

I'm sorry the quality of the pics isn't exactly the best, grabbed these from the stream:

Faelrin

Very glad to see Appalachiosaurus and Alioramus happening after all. Always felt they were strangely omitted from the Tyrannosaur series. I missed the stream last night because I was playing Spyro again and forgot about it. Gonna have to catch up on it.

I also think those two deserved to be included, even more so because the scrappy Alectrosaurus initially made it. Well, here they are now!

Faelrin

I'm too tired to share the images now, but David shared pics of the new Fire Clan ceratopsian armor concept art (Diabloceratops as the example), though granted it was mentioned in the stream too. It even had a setup for the babies to be armored (Lythronax gonna be having second thoughts now lol). Maybe later I can share them when I'm not so tired (although if someone else does I'd appreciate that too).

Heh, don't have much interest in the whole Dino-Riders gimmick, but I love the chainsaw horn and baby armor.

Pliosaurking

Great to see the 2 tyrannosaurs. Wonder what paint schemes they will have. I too am not really a fan of the battle armour, but that ceratopsian set looks sick!
