Hello guys!
I made this little diplocaulus figure recently and I want to share it with all of you.
It's made with polymer clay and painted with acrylics.

That looks great, you achieved a very nice translucent look on an opaque material. I like the skin texturing as well. Overall a great piece!

Amazing job with the painting! The sculpting is great of course, but I think it's the colors and the finish that set it apart and bring it alive!

This is such a great figure, and it has a lovely realistic amphibian look. You did a great job and whoever owns it now is very lucky.

"realistic amphibian look" ........... spot on !  Anyone want to hazard a guess why Diplocaulus has been overlooked by the major manufacturers, resin makers, shapeways designers?  It lends itself to a large model so well, but outside of a few Kaiyodo-sized and a chinasaur I found it's been ignored?  I hazard most early tetrapods (e.g Eryops, Acanthostega) don't have the appeal of a dinosaur, as they could be extant creatures and are not very distinctive.  Nothing looks like a Diplodocus or Allosaurus, but a lot of the pre-dinosaurs look like ......... well, lizards, newts, salamanders.  However nothing looks like a Diplocaulus - so apart from awesome one-offs like this, where is the love?
