An amazing discovery. So this one would have looked similar to Microraptor in regards to the coloration, correct? The tail feathers on this one are really impressive too. The crests are interesting too. Are there any modern birds or even reptiles that sport large lacrimal crests like those?

Not to my knowledge, not in their bony anatomy anyway.

Ah, more killer floof.

I wonder if the tail is a static fan shape, or if it can be controlled. (I'm aware the pygostyle based tail of modern birds operate differently)

And those foot feathers... how do you avoid predators and navigate thick bush in your jammies? :D

Good early discovery for this year. Possibly one of the best preserved fossils I've seen. :)
