I ordered a quetzalcoatlus damtoys twice from ebay and got it messed up broken ...exactly the same way... twice^^
The first time, the seller called me a liar... and doesn´t want to take it back. Ebay case ... return...got all my money back :D

The second one I ordered, I did a full unboxing video directly after getting it from UPS... and it was broken at exacty the same spots ^^
To be on the safe side - a good decision in retrospect :D

The second seller told me he manages it over his ensurance private not over ebay...no problem.
I got all my money back AND he didn´t want me to send it back^^

So I kept it, glued it ...and thought. Let´s try to make a repainted, feathered (scientifically more correct) version.
Reference were stork and marabu pictures and some deviant art drawings.
Added some Rebor Compys as some smaller 2-3m dinosaurs and an around 1:16 human skeleton (cave) for size scale :D

I think it didn't work too badly. And not bad for a ZERO dollar/euro model^^

Wow, you got lucky :D I mean, it would have been easier without all the mess, but two HUGE Pterosaurs for free and the opportunity to rebuild/repaint one of them. I am a bit jealous right now :D Why wouldn't they want their 500 Euro (!!!!!) Figure not back? What a great Story and the Feathering looks fantastic. I always wanted to try "not sculpted" feathers/protofeathers one day.

Good Idea with the Rebor Compis. I also used them for a Project that is not that Dinosaur Forum related (I gave them clothes :D)

The first seller didn't pay it back too me...ebay did it. Buyer safety. I don't know if they get it from him. I had to send this model back.

With the second seller was nice.
And I oredered it from him with extra ensurance and direct courier.
I had the unboxing video and he has the ensurance. So we got bouth our money.
And he didn't want it back because the it would be even more messed up by delivery service.

So I ended up with zero € instead of 350.
And to be honest...for me it looks much better repainted.
The model wasn't painted as good as Damtoys product pictures.

So :)

Ps: I used very thin fur for this and liquid glue.

Oh boy. I must have been completely lost in my head when reading your first post. I messed up every Detail :D Nevertheless, everything went fine in the end. What a great Story.

I'll have to try it with faux fur, someday later this year!

You have been great! The vivid red and blue colors of the crest, neck and bill are impressive. Nice work of art.

Quite the redemption.
The ankylosaur prey made the original interesting but the scales were such a horrible choice, a huge upgrade for sure.
The added REBOR compies also fit the pterosaur's lifestyle more, less a scavenger, but more the nightmare of every scavenger.

Yes, it should look more like - let's call them raptors - had done the ankylosaurus and now they themselves become the dinner for the "glowing tail feather snake".
In addition, the original lacks any idea of size for the viewer. That's why I once let humans die out earlier and put them in the small cave as skeleton. : D
