"you know you have a lot of prehistoric figures if you have at least twenty items per page of the prehistoric/dinosaur section on ebay." - anon.

Psittacoraptor

Very cool. As a lover of Palaeozoic fauna, this company's products are very interesting to me. If only they had a European distributor.

Faelrin

Nice to see a new Diplocaulus after so long, and one in their model line. One of these days I need to get the Tiktaalik. Easily the most beautiful rendition out there. Only been holding off so long because the cost and fragile nature of it really.

I'm glad they made a diplocaulus, it is a prehistoric animal unfairly treated on the market and it is a super interesting prehistoric amphibian and that it would even bring economic benefits if it were marketed provided they were quality figures.

ceratopsian

Very desirable. Absolutely agree it's a shame they don't have a European distributor. I'm just a bit too worried about the fragility issue and postage costs to bite.

Another new model, although it's currently showing as sold out. The "lace crab" Marrella splendens at about 8×life size:

It's somewhat more expensive than other models, but that's understandable given the mind-blowing intricacy. Link:

The description includes a couple of interesting points:
"...made of durable full-colour plastic and has been printed using state of the art 3D printing technology." I wonder if Currie has changed his printing methods. It might be possible now to print PLA or ABS in full-color.

And: "All Paleozoo models come with tracking details and a no-damage-in-transit guarantee," which suggests that although shipping might be a little expensive, he's working pretty hard to make sure people aren't worried about the model breaking along the way.

Still, for those concerned about international shipping, it might be worth asking Urzeitshop if they'd be interested in stocking these? They have plenty of experience with fragile products.

That certainly looks wonderful, but I think I'm satisfied with the Favorite one I obtained earlier this year for the meantime. Still it looks like a great job. If he's able to do things in plastic now, then I would like to see that applied to the Tiktaalik at the very least. Still the most beautiful representative on the market, and perhaps other then the model O @Oammararak made for their LIFE game, there aren't really that many other alternative options out there then I can think of (to be honest it is just these two on the top of my mind). It's still sad that one of the most revolutionary finds regarding tetrapod evolution has been ignored this long, as far as the toy and collectible market goes.

Am I reading that correctly, that the Marella figure will only be 10 cm? That would be nice. But I am worried; the last thing I ordered from them broke in transit. Not sure I want to risk that again, especially for something with so many delicate parts.

Evidently! I think a plain reading of "guarantee" indicates that he will replace a model that breaks. I have found him pretty respinsive to email, so might be worth confirming that way.

It has been possible for FDM printers (those that print print PLA and ABS) to print in multiple colours for quite a long while. The problem is that adding a colour means adding a new extruder (printer head) and that is only practical to a certain point. Four has been pretty common in deluxe FDM machines more or less since they were widely commercialized. So it might be more that this particular design required more durable plastic, or that the smaller colour palette was an opportunity to try something new.

Another spectacular model from Paleozoo! I'm happy with my Favorite Co. version for the time being, but damn this Marella looks amazing.

Interested to know if the new material is more or less expensive than the old material.

If only I could afford these figures :'(
Walking With Beasts is the best palaeo media documentary and no one can persuade me otherwise.
