I usually require colors and backgrounds to really support the prehistoric animal artwork.

In this case, Rhys Meyerkort's work usually lacks this. However, with his work I've found it to be not only informative but an appealing piece when reading the information he provides. It's as if his information comes alive. Hopefully this isn't interpreted incorrectly as I am a fan of his work and generally get paleo information from him regarding certain topics.

This Daspletosaurus being pretty relevant given the Haolonggood vs. Safari vs. PNSO Daspletosaurus discussion.

You can find his work on instagram, known as paleonerd01.

PNSO's is probably my favorite:

To add to the above quote, while Bujard's Ornitholestes isn't my favorite, I did dream that my family had a similar-looking pet (I.e. W/a "spotted coat of furry feathers": https://paleopetshop.com/2020/03/01/critter-of-the-month-ornitholestes-2/ ). In my dream back in July, he wouldn't come in on his own, so I had to carry him in (like this: https://jurassicpark.fandom.com/wiki/Junior?file=Cradlecarry.png ):

As mentioned in my DA review ( https://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=2210.msg314733#msg314733 ), "the Ornitholestes life reconstructions are my favorites in both" Norell's The World of Dinosaurs: An Illustrated Tour (PNSO's above) & Gaffney's Dinosaurs: A Fully Illustrated, Authoritative and Easy-to-Use Guide (Dawson's below).

Anchiceratops by Andrey Atuchin.

One of the most overlooked ceratopsids, and, in my opinion, one of the coolest ones.

Prosaurolophus, Saurolophus osborni & Saurolophus angustirostris by Henry Sharpe.

Just realized that S. osborni is like a hadrosaurid version of Cryolophosaurus (well, I guess I should say Cryolophosaurus is the theropod version of S. osborni, since the former was described later).

Gorgeous as always! Sharpe is a master of his craft.

But Cryolophosaurus lived earlier, so I think it is that S. osborni is the counterpart to Cryolophosaurus!

Halichoeres

I like the inset showing how weird Megatherium's feet were.

Also obviously a fan of Lacerda's Cladoselache!
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

W/so many cool new Dilo artworks since 2020, it's hard for me to pick favorites. That said, I really like Brian Engh's & Chase Stone's.

Torvosaurus

My favorites are the Jay Matternes's Cenozoic scenes. I always feel like I can just step into them. There's another famous artist who paints large sweeping scenes as well. I can see his face and see the paintings, but can't remember his name. I have trouble with names sometimes since my last stroke.

Charles Knight and Zdenek Burian are beautiful when you consider what they knew.

I guess I like all artists to some degree and my favorite one is whichever pic I'm looking at.

Quote from: Concavenator on July 08, 2022, 07:40:08 PMI love dromaeosaurids, they're probably my favorite family of dinosaurs, because of how elegant they are and since they are so similar to extant birds, they're, in a way, relatable.

Me too, especially eudromaeosaurs ( http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=10177.msg316852#msg316852 )! As for Halszkaraptor, Halafax stands out to me artistically: https://www.deviantart.com/avian-king/art/Halafax-720268792

Looks like Halafax's Halszkaraptor is outdated now ( https://archive.ph/HuVTf ). Oh well :P

That's 1 of my favorite pre-2020 Dilo artworks! I also like Franczak's (which is in Wallace's Familiar Dinosaurs, which I reviewed: https://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=2210.msg318688#msg318688 ) & Csotonyi's:
