Giganotosaurus

These look like Danger Packs to me, but some were saying that Mattel is notorious at picture taking?
Mosasurus on Jurassic Mainframe and JPToys
Angurius on TohoKingdom

I love all the Jurassic movies, plus Disney's Dinosaur

So those are finally starting to be revealed huh? Looking forward to them, maaaay pick up the Dimetrodon since it'll probably be one of the smaller Hammond Collection ones.
Something about the head is a biiiit off, idk if it's a slight overbite or the teeth itself but it's probably the best JW Dimetrodon out there.

avatar_Giganotosaurus @Giganotosaurus I think the Eoraptor and Stegouros are. The Grypsosuchus is probably going to be in whatever their medium large figure range, like the Sarcosuchus a few years back, and the Triceratops and Megalosaurus are probably in the medium electronic size range. Honestly the names for these assortments change every few years anyways, so it's why I haven't organized them just like that yet (also the lack of stuff atm), like I did for prior threads. I'm still debating if I should add the leaked species from a bit ago to the list as well, to help flesh things out. Four of those are officially confirmed now anyways. Edit: Actually five I think. I couldn't tell what it was at the time, but going over it, it appears the Megalosaurus was in that batch as well.

More like "the whole had is wrong and poorly sculpted".

Gwangi

The Grypsosuchus is fantastic, that's the only must-have that I see here. The Eoraptor and Stegouros are pretty cool too but I don't know if I need them. Need better pictures first. The Dimetrodon is disappointing, gonna just stay content with my mainline version.

MLMjp

How do you go from the Habitat Defender Triceratops to...that Tundra thing.

Those long legs in the HC Dimetrodon...

I wonder why Mattel doesn't make figures based on the JW evolution desings as they did with the Carcharodontosaurus, would have benefited that Megalosaurus for sure.

According to the previous blurry leak, the Gryposuchus is in the Wild Roar line, alongside the Megalosaurus. So both are the electronic "Roarivore" sized figures.

andrewsaurus rex

overly long legs on Hammond Collection figures is a common problem.  It's so they can add in all the extra leg articulation easily, but i think it spoils the appearance of many of the figures.

Faelrin

avatar_Flaffy @Flaffy Thanks for the correction. Still wondering what those other two in that image were, but at least these two are confirmed now.

Blade-of-the-Moon

Mostly interested in a Megalosaurus but I don't really like the color..but I can say that for all of them,  the paint is just way too cartoon like? Maybe they will tie into the new animated series?

Pliosaurking

Gryphosuchus is great! I don't know how they went from the habitat defender trike to this one however... and that Dimetrodon is inferior to the one that comes with Dr. Grant and the battle damage one in my opinion. The Eoraptor and Stegouros are nice as well, as is the Megalosaurus.

Carnoking

2023 may very well be my last year for Mattel if this is as good as it gets.

stargatedalek

That HC Dimetrodon is exciting! I don't mind the long legs as they're ultimately closer to reality and imo a better look.

Hmmm. You know, Epic Evolution may as well be a gimmick those figures have. The leaked Allosaurus had something mentioned about an "Evolve for Battle" feature and the Gryposuchus and Triceratops at least look like they could have such features, too, whatever they are. The Trike generally looks different, more armored than your usual JP Trike. And yes, I also think that it may be related to upcoming animated content.
Interested in the Megalosaurus as well as the Eoraptor vs Stegouros set. The latter could be a good way to get further smaller species. They could for example make a Lystrosaurus vs Oviraptor set.

Need more pics of the HC Dimetrodon to properly judge.

Edit: Forgot to mention that the Trike being blue is a nice nod to one of the more common Trike colors in pop cultures.

Skorpio V.

It'd be an obscure nod or a coincidence that the Triceratops frill has that sort of integument considering this Jack Horner tweet:

QuoteRest assured, the shield of Triceratops was covered with keratin! Like the keratin scutes covering a turtle shell, having grown as individual segments, all tied together to form a smooth colorful surface. The entire Triceratops skull, except it's nose, mouth and eye regions.

Either an obscure nod or a funky coincidence :))
On and off dinosaur collecting phases over the span of millions of years has led me to this very forum.

As much as I used to admire Horner I kind of take his ideas with more than a grain of salt anymore, neat as they may be.

stargatedalek

Horner is far from the only person, let alone the first, to suggest ceratopsians has keratin or similar armoured structures on their frills.

Nyrorosaurus

There's also an upcoming "Bite Club" line

CityRaptor

The first rule of Bite Club is: you do not talk about Bite Club.

Looks like another cutesy, wutesy line, but based on movie scenes. My guess is that Rexy can swallow Gennaro.
