Pachyrhinosaurus

An update on the game:

It looks promising. What I've seen so far does a good job at reviving the look and feel of the original film, which is something the recent films have been lacking.

Jurassic PARK survival with all Jurassic World designs. its not gonna affect the quality of the actual game but it makes me mad anyways
Shrek 4 is an underrated masterpiece

Pachyrhinosaurus

avatar_GojiraGuy1954 @GojiraGuy1954 I think the rex and dilophosaurus look faithful to the originals, though the brachiosaurus definitely favors the World design now that you mention it. I'm hoping we get to see a 1993 rendition of one of the unseen Nublar species as well like in JP:TG.

Me too, otherwise you're only getting 6 species to see and interact with. That was fine for the movie but I would like some more diversity in the game.

The rex is definitely like.. the FK one. All the interesting shapes and sharp edges of the 93 rex are absent and it's lanky as anything.

I think seeing less cartoony versions of the telltale Troodons would be cool

I'm thinking about the species mentioned in the brochure, the book, or labeled on the embryos that Nedry steals.

I'm not feeling this game at all.
No gameplay sequence is very worrying, it will just be a walking simulator, which isn't very exciting to me for a JP video game.
On top of that they are focused at reproducing the iconic scene from the movie.
This is just a fan service move, and it's never a great idea for a video game, gameplay should be the most important.

SpartanSquat

I hope we will see it soon. Dont know how saber interactive holds many developments like space marine 2, jp survival, painkiller and toxic commando, this game was announced like 2 years ago and no word, just a trailer with some gameplay and bon jovi song.
Between the time when the oceans drank Atlantis and the rise of the sons of Aryas, there was an age undreamed of. And unto this, Conan, destined to wear the jeweled crown of Aquilonia upon a troubled brow. It is I, his chronicler, who alone can tell thee of his saga. Let me tell you of the days of high adventure!

I don't think so, from the looks of it they seem to want to make the Jurassic Park version of Alien Isolation, which to this day is probably the third best piece of Alien media after Alien and Aliens.

Yes, Saber does seem to make us reminisce scenes from the first movie but besides having good reasons to do so (it takes place on Nublar directly after the incident) it seems more pratical like in the aforementioned Isolation than mere fanservice like in Jurassic World.

We don't have any gameplay intention footage.
They focus only on showing the JP licence elements.

I say it's a bad idea to reproduce the iconic scenes from the movie, because it will force them to adapt the gameplay to these scenes, with all the limitations involved, without real freedom.
The better idea to get a good video game is to create your gameplay first, the, you adapt it to the licence.

I hope I'm wrong of course, but if that's just a walking simulator, I don't need a video game for that, I can just rewatch the first movie, there is much better to do with the JP licence.

Giganotosaurus

I like horror "walking simulators", so I'll be fine if Survival turns out to be one. Having a camera during a portion of the game ala Outlast would be fun.
Mosasurus on Jurassic Mainframe and JPToys
Angurius on TohoKingdom

I love all the Jurassic movies, plus Disney's Dinosaur

Except "reproducing" scenes from the first movie could mean pretty much anything from taking it literally down to faithfully recreating the enviroment (which they kind of have to for consistency?).

Like, say hiding in the kitcken from Velociraptor or Dilophosaurus with Alien Isolation-like gameplay could be taken as reproducing the scene from the first movie and besides there would be good reason to have a second kitchken scene: that dromaeosaur is not going to free itself.

Actually I'm more concerned because of Camp Cretaceous, since the can scene with Dodgson deprived the game of one of the most logical ideas for a plot.
