I think the species teased was the Argentinosaurus.  It was just that people thought it was a carnivore.  In retrospect the teaser looks more like a sauropod than a theropod.

This one I am interested in!  The colouration of the one in the photo looks just like what I think of for Huayangosaurus, but I'm keen to see the other colouration it will come in!

Flaffy

I've always imagined Huayangosaurus to be yellowing-green, so this one looks perfect for me too. Though I am also interested to see what the alternate colour scheme looks like.

Replaces the PNSO version. The HLG one is far more refined.

ceratopsian

I couldn't see any teeth in the jaws on the teaser.

 Argentinosaurus looks incredible!!!

Gwangi

I wonder if the Huayangosaurus is paying tribute to the Kaiyodo one, being in a feeding pose and all.

I wonder if the Argentinosaurus will be hollow vinyl or solid PVC. Surely the latter would be prohibitively expensive to ship.

What an amazingly nice surprise. This Argeninosaurus is jaw dropping and leaves me beyond speechless. All four color variants look just beautiful, each is different yet elegant and natural. This will be a very hard decision which version to get. Maybe I will go for two. And so many nice details visible on the sculpt already, like the head sculpt and this pouch like feature on the neck. And I like very much that the tail is not curled.

A clear plus is also that it appears now that Haolonggood follows rather closely the size estimates from the Molina-Perez and Larramendi book for their sauropods. Regardless of the large uncertainty in estimating sizes of large sauropods with incomplete fossil remains, it is nevertheless a good approach to follow one scientifically traceable source for these estimate rather than picking one from here and one from there.

Actually I would tentatively think that it would be solid for a number of reasons which are interconnected. Vampiredesign in one post mentioned that Haolonggood is the owner of the factory where they produce the figures. If this is correct, they would have to completely change the molding process to rotational molding and invest into new molding machines and set up and optimize this different molding process.

In addition, they have tested the waters (i.e. market) quite thoroughly with their Alamosaurus and Mamenchisaurus and these were highly successful. These two figures still feature on top at Lana Time Shop if you sort the Haolonggood figures according to best selling. Therefore, I believe that Haolonggood has convinced themselves that this even larger Argentinosaurus will also sell well even if the shipping will be more expensive.

Holy schnitzel. I can already hear the sound of wallets dying.
One day we will know the truth about Spinosaurus... but not today.

I feel like Ian Malcolm seeing these pictures.

That's what I thought...heavy impressed! I don't know, if I will get one. Let's see how much it will cost. I am very tempted.

interestingly, Huayangosaurus is part of the deal and seems like it's not going to be sold separately

Samrukia

Then that would be a huge mistake, that book is great for beginners or casuals but is full of huge inaccuracies and bs (even more in the theropods book). Hell, theres even a derogatory insult based on the outhors name used by some paleontologist towards casuals "palenerds" that use and follow those eofauna books as sources.

Ambre

An amazing figure but i can't even begin to imagine what the price and shipping cost will be for me since i live on an island in the middle of nowere. I might just sit this one out for a while

Faelrin

This I did not expect. At least not this soon. Not sure how they can top this one.

Sad to see the Huayangosaurus is exclusive to order only with this one (unless it is a special paint variant).

Surely the Huayangosaurus will eventually be sold separately as well. It makes no sense not to.
