Dino fiction

Hello,

I have just finished reading Dino Rift and Primitive War (& both the sequels) and wondering if anyone can recommend any other good dino fiction?

Well, there's Robert Bakker's classic Raptor Red, if you're looking for fiction that's just about dinosaurs (no humans).

If you want fiction with humans and dinosaurs interacting, there are several standards that set the scene: Journey to the Center of the Earth by Jules Verne, The Lost World by Arthur Conan Doyle, and the Pellucidar series by Edgar Rice Burroughs. These are all "lost world" books, in which dinosaurs still exist in some remote part of the earth. The Dinotopia series by James Gurney is a more recent, illustrated entry in this subgenre. All are worth checking out.

I assume you're familiar with Michael Crichton's contributions.

Some classic science-fiction short stories feature dinosaurs too. "A Gun for Dinosaur" by L. Sprague de Camp and "A Sound of Thunder" by Ray Bradbury come to mind.

I realize my recommendations are all ancient. I'm not up on more recent dinosaur-themed fiction, hopefully somebody else will chime in.

There are quite a few dinosaur-themed comic books too. Turok, Devil Dinosaur, Xenozoic Tales AKA Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, Age of Reptiles, Dinosaur Sanctuary...I've only read bits and pieces of all of these, so I'm not necessarily recommending them, just throwing them out there.

When I was in school I read Paul Zindel's Raptor, as well as 11,000 Years Lost by Peni R. Griffin. They look to be geared more towards a younger audience, but I remember them fondly.

Something similar to what you have read would be Dinosaur Wars by Thomas P. Hopp there are a few sequels .
