Glad you got a replacement! Very odd that it came broken. Safari is my childhood brand and I don't think I've ever seen one of their figures break from play before, aside from their rubbery sharks when left in the sun.

Safari has excellent customer service though. I've ordered from them for years and whenever I have an issue (rarely) they are quick to fix it!

OK, taking bets on whether Megalosaurus debuts in the new year!
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

Shane already said (maybe on the ATF, can't remember) the rest of Safari 2024 will be out after Xmas, which essentially means the New Year as very little gets accomplished (anywhere) between Xmas and New Years.

Megalosaurus, Bearded Vulture, & Adolescent male lion now in stock! S @Shane Do you possibly know when the white stork, Mahi-mahi, and porbeagle are coming in? I'd like to order everything at once and sometimes I order things when they come in stock then the rest arrives a week later.

If the old Carnegie Saltasaurus was 1/40, at a glance, without measuring or calculating in any way, Safari's new one looks about 1/35ish. Anyone know? Based on Andy's images, I'm liking this figure more than I did from the preliminary picture. If I were to get this release, I'd be strongly tempted to have a repaint done. The rear toe nails look terribly oversized with that paint job, a real turn-off for me. They be the first thing with which I'd deal.

Those items are expected hopefully sometime in the near future but right now I can't narrow it down too much. Mahi mahi and Porbeagle are expected before the Stork. Those two may come fairly soon, I'd expect the stork has a little while yet.

Just an update here, Mahi-Mahi should be in stock very soon.

It is now in stock on Safari's site: https://www.safariltd.com/products/mahimahi-toy-fish-figure

The Jersey Devil will also be in stock very soon (likely today or tomorrow) for anyone waiting for that.

Scott Hartman compliments Kieran on the Megalosaurus sculpt:

I had forgotten the Megalo's sculptor had been confirmed previously. I'd be very happy to see more extinct animals from them in the future.

Just ordered one from Dejankins. I was going to bypass this genus as I already have the PNSO one, but this looked too good to skip.

I just got the megalosaurus in hand. It's not a good texture for my autistic self. The material is actually the same as CollectA's Megalosaurus. That one minor critique aside, I love it. The sculpt and paintwork are gorgeous. Almost PNSO quality like I've bee saying.

JimoAi

it's that rubberised plastic?

Quote from: JimoAi on January 10, 2025, 05:49:20 AMit's that rubberised plastic?

In order to ensure that the Megalosaurus could stand without being too stiff and brittle, it utilizes TPR instead of PVC.

The feel is slightly different, but it allows for flexibility while also ensuring stability.

The different plastic also adds a lot to the detail. I feel like it allows for finer details that overall improve the model.

Quote from: Flaffy on July 29, 2024, 11:32:09 PMSafari starting a trend of posing titanosaurs next to crayons ^-^ Really happy with how the Saltasaurus turned out, greatly improves upon its Carnegie predescessor. Loving all the attention titanosaurs are getting in recent years! My only gripe about the figure is how the toe claws so big and all the same size. The first claw should be the largest, with the third being the smallest.

I finally ordered this from Dejankins, having been persuaded of its good qualities by avatar_suspsy @suspsy 's DTB review. I definitely will get the hind claws repainted, so as to integrate them more naturally into the digits. Having noted avatar_Flaffy @Flaffy 's comment on their respective lengths, some surgery seems to be in order here also.
