I find it a bit unfortunate that the only way to get a screen proportional figure of the Mosasaurus is through the matchbox boat set. The rest suffer from significant foreshortening and cartoonish proportions.

The Matchbox set is pretty cool. I picked it up off Amazon.  you get the boat and a raft too.  The bite and blast is acceptable but man IDK what they were thinking with the SC, it looks like a big Funko pop or a baby Mosa?

Only had one HC Spino at my target. The mouth tissue piece was bent facing outwards from the mouth in the packaging so I hope it's alright when I take it out.

Should be fine , Mine was out on one side and I just pushed it back in.

A shame that Mattel never quite got the Mosa's proportions right in any of their lines outside of the matchbox figure. Even then the matchbox figure has a weird overbite and jaw articulation cutting, something you don't see on even smaller figures like the 'Strike Attack' stuff.

You'd think with so much space and material to work with for the SC line, we'd get more proportionate figures out of it.

A proportional Mosa would either be small scale-wise and thus not very compatible with the figures or huge in size, which is not practical retail-wise...also Mattel wanted the Mosas to have big mouths, so they could bite and swallow stuff, so they had to go with making them disproportionate.

A super colossal Mosa was an opportunity to make a large, proportionate Mosa but they didn't.......they just made a slightly larger version of the large one they already made.  Had they kept the head size the same and lengthened the body several inches that would have been great.

But the super colossal can swallow my arm all the way to the elbow. How fun is that?

I did notice this as well lol Now you can go all " it's eating my arm!!" when playing with the kids lol

I hung my up in the giftshop for decor yesterday, it's just way off. If they go super cheap I may get a couple more and add them to our Terrors of the Deep park display to further populate it.

They should try a pliosaur..they have big heads already relative to body size.

Giganotosaurus

I hope they release a new Liopleurodon mold that doesn't use electronics....do we think that's a possibility in the near future?
Mosasurus on Jurassic Mainframe and JPToys
Angurius on TohoKingdom

I love all the Jurassic movies, plus Disney's Dinosaur

There's still a number of pliosaurs they could tackle. Sachicasaurus, Monquirasaurus, and Megacephalosaurus immediately spring to mind. I would seriously be tempted by any of those—-provided they didn't have electronics.

Come to think of it why were both pliosaurs roar toys anyways? Wouldn't it be way more clever to market them as bath or pool friendly toys seeing as they're aquatic critters. Plus I don't think roars and noises are what come to mind when most people think of pliosaurs, unless they were trying to invoke something like a whale song?

A critique that I absolutely agree with. They should've made a sub-line for the aquatics in line with the Real Feel Mosasaur.

Moreover, that poor Kronosaurus was painfully undersized, and suffers from that ugly slider button feature that was thankfully quickly ditched. A waste of a good sculpt in my eyes.

There weren't any of the definably Kronosaurus attributes in that figure anyways, so hypothetically you could use it as any other pliosaur. Perhaps the smaller 7 meter estimate of Megalneusaurus?

I passed on both the Kronosaurus and the Liopleurodon precisely because they were electronic. My boys enjoy playing with their sea creature toys in their grandparents' swimming pool, at the beach, and in the shower.

I'm more annoyed that the Dakosaurus never showed up here.

Same, but Canada did get the Torvoneustes at least. The review will go up near the end of June.

Yeah, I have that latter one. Hoping to see Purrusaurus soon...

I just received my Hammond Collection Stegosaurus. I seem to have gotten the Stegosaurus and Spinosaurus a lot earlier than most people, which is odd. I pre-ordered this on Amazon UK just over a month ago and got it this morning.

Stegosaurus has been my most anticipated species since the Hammond Collection launched and this guy is really, really cool. There're a few areas I wish were more articulated, but the charming Lost World aesthetics help me overlook them. The figure is also a good bit larger than the usual Mattel stegosaurus figures which surprised me. But the larger size is appropriate considering how oversized they were in the movie.

Finally, here's a group photo of all the Lost World figures in the Hammond Collection line so far except for the tiger-striped Velociraptors which haven't arrived in the UK yet.

Looks fantastic! It really is amazing seeing just how far Mattel has come with this line, and what a great alternative it's become to the mainline.
