Quote from: oscars_dinos on July 16, 2025, 07:16:10 AMNow this is what I've been waiting for from HLG. look at that flick of the tail, the tilt of the head, this looks like it's moving not stuck in a weird pose. Im not the biggest fan of the colors but if I was to go in with some black paint and darken up the blue one I think I'd be happy. I want to see some reviews but I believe this will be another instance of a HLG figure taking the spot of a pnso in my collection. As everyone says, the head on that pnso is just off.
I think that the moment has come for the Iguanodon for which many of us have been waiting. There's no way that I can imagine PNSO releasing another Iguanodon any time soon, so we're stuck with that beautifully sculpted Iguanodon/Mantellisaurus chimera (I own one). The Safari is terrific, but too small; the CollectA a tad big I think and the scalation somewhat oversized, though texturally pleasing to the touch, I must say. There's the old Papo, with its plus and minus aspects, so I really believe that HLG's one is the ONE.

I still my green deluxe one by CollectA. Sadly I never own the Safari, the old Carnegie and the PNSO one. BUt now it is time...despite the blue colour

It is interesting: this week I purchased two Haolonggood figures: Shantungosaurus (green) and now Iguanodon (brown), whilst I didn't own anything from Haolonggood before. But both Shantungosaurus and Iguanodon are some of the best figures in that price bracket available, I think. And Ornithopods are some of my favourite dinosaurs, with their often graceful bauplan.

I love the subtle violet tones in the brown Iguanodon. I also like the mottled/spotted appearance, like a beautiful ginger with freckles — it makes it stand out from all my other figures ;D

I have just done the same. I've just bought the brown iguanodon and the green Shantungosaurus (that is at home).
I think I have never purchased a Haolonggood figure so fast ever. But I just LOVE that iguanodon. And yes, I do have the Papo, the Collecta and the PNSO. But this is going to be my favourite.

come on, Haolonggood...

Right now my heart says blue, but I will continue holding the decision till I see in-hand / video reviews.

The only other species I'm looking for are Kentrosaurus and Qianzhousaurus (yes, PNSO's isn't very satisfactory to me...), so I think I'll be safe if I get the blue Iguanodon?

Good thing I wasn't interested in Saurolophus or Torosaurus... or PNSO's Mapusaurus.

The pose is growing on me, I'm so happy to see this Iguanodon from HLG (:

Sadly it's an another product cannot be delivered to my country.

I think PNSO Iguanodon looks better but it's x2 more expensive.

I usually like grey tone but i find contrast on HLG models seems a bit harsh lately other than Euhelopus.

avatar_Turkeysaurus @Turkeysaurus which shop / shops do you use for HLG products on AliExpress?

In fact I'll open this question to anyone who will answer! I previously bought my HLG S. ungulatus from My Online Toy Store, but not sure if it's the best option.

Despite the overabundance of browns in my collections from Safari, PNSO and now HLG, I find myself attracted to this brown heavy Iguanodon. Go figure.

i used to buy from My Online Toy Store,
but for the last year I am buying from Model Toy Center

simply the most beneficial for me in terms of shipment fees (it's free from MTC to my country)

I have ordered Haolonggood models from My online Toy Store , Model Toy Center & Model Toy Shop Store so far. I had no problems.

For PNSO there is official pnso store.

If you are tired of blue color scheme...remember that the upcoming Giganotosaurus also has a blue variant ::)

Lovely patterns on the Iguanodon, though. And I think I like the blue one more :*D

crazy8wizard

were photos leaked of the haolonggood giganotosaurus or did somebody mention that it would have that color scheme?

Skull feels very Altirhinus to me. Wonder if I could pass the figure off as that genus...

Monkeysaurus

I may skip this one seeing as how I already own the overpriced PNSO iguanodon. I agree with the consensus here - the color schemes are getting repetitive and old. I may change my mind after a YouTube review but only for the brown.
Just because I have a short attention span doesn't mean

avatar_Flaffy @Flaffy There aren't any figures of Altirhinus out there is there? None that I can think of anyways. I like this idea.

Also the head shape also kind of reminds me of Kron and Bruton in Disney's Dinosaur which I think were inspired by Altirhinus perhaps?

I have Safari's Iguanodon - it's a nice figure, but HLG's definitely has the upper hand for size and sculpt! Agree with the comments on the paintwork. It'd be great to see some more adventurous (or at least less heavily recycled) palettes. Right now I am partial to the speckled brown, but I'll wait until in-hand images start coming in before I commit.

Yeah technically Kron and Bruton represent Altirhinus, so certainly not the first time we've had Altirhinus in toy form. The HLG could potentially be a more serious take on the genus, despite it being named Iguanodon.

That high nasal arch sure reminds me of the Muttaburrosaurus. But, regarding this new figure, I'd like to see a much better close-up of the head itself. I'm wondering if the prominent arch is clearly a consequence of the underlying  front of the skull itself (Altirhinus) or can be construed as soft tissue alone? There would hopefully be some reasonably clear indication of one or the other. If the former turns out to be the case , then we're back at square one where PNSO left us with their chimera of an Iguanodon, IMO.

Faelrin

avatar_Flaffy @Flaffy I forgot about the toys, despite having them as a kid. Oops. So guess they would have been done before in some way.
