everyone's wanting Basilosaurus. i hope it happens. *fingers crossed*

I thought Mojo was making a Basilosaurus?!  Well, if they both end up making the same animal (and in the same year!)...hopefully, they are similar enough to be complementary.
Yeah,Mojö said they were doing a Basilosaurus

No more dead dinosaurs from Collecta, not for 2014 least ways.  However, we will be making a couple of announcements very shortly with regards to Collecta's product range.

A Shonisaurus would be awesome. The only halfway decent model of one is the Schleich, so we need more models of this enormous ichthyosaur.

I would have said so..but I doubt it would get made..lol  Might have to wait for Mr. Foulkes to tackle that scale ! ;)

Shastasaurus would be sweet, given that it's the largest known icthyosaur.

Also, I personally would be thrilled and amused if Collecta's 2015 series consisted entirely of dead dinosaurs. But then I have a slightly warped sense of humour. ;)

This Friday will be 1st November. They usually announce their new products this day of the week,so,who knows? Will we discover two new figures this friday? After all, they said they are announcing again in early November. I likeCollectA's lineup so far, especially the Carcharodontosaurus. This dinosaur has been ignored, and I don't know why. It's the 3rd biggest carnivore dinosaur ever. There was only a figure of it,the Safari one (who was a joke, equally bad,or even worse that the Old Sucho). And Collec,tA has striken and release this awesome replica.I'm happy of that.
But if we means to giant killer dinosaurs, where's Saurophaganax? It's in the Top 10 bigegest carnivore dinosaurs, but it's ausent in the market.Come on,CollectA,strike again and release an awesome one!  :)

IMO, there aren't enough differences between Saurophaganax and Allosaurus to justify making the former a different genus. Except size, but there are enough giant Allosaurus fragments from Cleveland-Lloyd and Garden Park  ("Epanterias" for example) that show Allosaurus could get that big.

Blade-of-the-Moon

In my opinion the WS Carcharodontosaurus was pretty good. Given when it came out it's been the only figure of that species for a long while. The pose seems odd but it was based on a really good piece of art by Mark Hallett..or at least I've always thought so.

Carcharo suffered from the same problem as Sucho in the media though..just as it was getting noticed another dinosaur moved in on it and took over... Giganotosaurus / Spinosaurus .

Wouldn't hold your breath for the first of the month.  But we at Everything Dinosaur are on the case and rest assured when clearance is given we will post up information.  Pictures if required, might have to follow a few days later.

I think an issue with giant Icthyosaurs is that they basically all look the same. You'd have to have a large one to scale to get it, and mostly it would just look like a large species made out of scale. Might be an issue with the larger theropods too, though CollectA seems less worried about that.

I suppose that is a valid criticism...but that is not to say all ichthyosaurs are boring. Excalibosaurus would make an interesting subject :) If you looked at only the skeleton of the various dolphin species, you might think they look the same. I like ichthyosaurs, maybe not as much as mosasaurs or plesiosaurs, but they're still an interesting example of convergent evolution.

And doesn't Shonisaurus have a deeper ribcage than most other ichthyosaurs?

Now it's November...so,when will the rest of the models be announced?

This should be the week of revelations for Collecta right?
Let's hope so,,,

:D

Blade-of-the-Moon

Maybe.

I don't suppose anyone has heard release dates from CollactA yet ?  I'm a bit curious if they are going to be getting product out as early as Safari.

Everything_Dinosaur

Everything Dinosaur team members have been working with Collecta for some time to co-ordinate notification with regards to the last of the 2014 releases.  We can now confirm that there will be two extra additions to the company's Prehistoric Life range.  First, there is going to be a Quetzalcoatlus with prey figure, it measures approximately 13cm tall with a length of just over 11cm.  The other release is another Ceratopsian - Xenoceratops.  Xenoceratops measures 13.5cm long and stands just under 7cm at its highest point.

These models are in the company's standard range.  We hope to have permission to show pics shortly.  We are working with Collecta with regards to production.  It is our intention to get delivery of all the new Collecta models as quickly as possible.  We are tentatively planning to have the stock in the UK in February 2014.
