I will actually pick up many of the new collectA's. The bases are a plus for me. Fot the two legged figures it allows for a pose that is more than just standing in a fairly neutral position. I much prefer these to Safari's tripod big feet and Carnegie's tri-pods.

C:-) There's been a negligence in updating the first post with pictures for a while now ;).

I think that's why. :P
like a bantha!

Megalania

Carcharodontosaurus

Stegosaurus corpse

these are my favorites
I hope that both dinosaurs come in a decent scale

My apologies for not seeing this thread's first post needed updating.  I believe it is now, unless I missed something. :)

CollectA had released some additional shots of the first 3 figures, one of them showing that the ichtyovenator would have a base :)

Do you have some quick links to them ?

I also recall the Quetz ? Any one have a pic of it ?  Lot's of pages to dig though now.

I´m impresed of the next dinosaurs that are coming out next year. I can´t wait to get one  ;D
Especially the Carcharodontosaurus  :D
BTW with some imagination that Quetzalcoatlus could work for a Hateg Island Diorama

Edited for content, removed the list of pics from the first page that was quoted. No sense in re-posting them all when they can be found on page 1.

Seems to be a trend with the new CollectA theropods in that they have thicker, more muscular tails. Or maybe it's just me :o

I'd have to go back and check but if so that's certainly a good thing as it makes them more accurate yes ?

tyrantqueen

I think so, particularly in the Bistahieversor and the Saurophaganax.

Their old Tyrannosaurus rex had a whip ended tail

But in the new models, the tail is quite thick throughout the whole length.

Blade-of-the-Moon

I know a thicker base of the tail is more accurate, the Rex looks about right to me..that tail tip in 1:1 would be around 3" thick I thick I think.

That's not to say the skeleton couldn't support a more robust tail the whole length of course.  Though maybe the change is to help prevent damage to models during shipping and play ?

It might just be to reflect the thicker, more muscular tails that the dinos should have as well. Makes sense in a way, rather than a big bulging muscle at the hip, then a fast taper to a whip. Preferences could still just be a holdover from the images we've been seeing for so long, inspired by iguanas and such.

Carnosaur

CollectA's dinos are kinda hit or miss with me, but i love their modern wildlife figures.
the detailing is so nice on them.

To me this looks like CollectA's strongest year so far :-\ ....... definitely stronger than Safari 2014.

The anticipated change of power ????

I hope Safari is going to wage the struggle ;D.

I'll have to disagree here. While my favorite lines out now are still those of Safari,it seems that the real power for years now has been Schleich, whose toys even show up in big box stores like Wal-Mart and Toys R uS...
Don't you hate it when you legitimately compliment someone's mustache and she gets angry with you?

Argh ... that's what happens when I'm trying to express myself in English :-[.
I meant 'power' more in an idealistic way, not commercial.
There's probably a better English expression for this.

It also depends on the reader--I understood what you meant, but it is easy to see the alternate, in which case terrible Schleich figures will dominate the market once again. Regardless of their overall terrible quality and poor accuracy.

I don't like CollectA's style all that much...but in comparison to Safari's models, I would choose CollectA in a heartbeat.
