I love what I can see of this Troodon formosus. :)
I would love to see David Krentz do Styracosaurus albetensis (again that is,as you can never have too many of anything) ;D
Don't you hate it when you legitimately compliment someone's mustache and she gets angry with you?

brontodocus

Wonderful! :) With all those feather textures it probably deserves being printed at a larger scale, too. And in "Frosted Ultra Detail". 8)

Oh Lord, won't you buy me a T-rex by Krentz? My friends all have Sideshow, I must make amends.

Is this Troodon part of the Saurozoic collection? :)

David's comment on scale :

First I'll try this at Shapeways in 1/40 ( 3", for Saurozoic)  and maybe 1/18 ( 6 or so inches) if that doesn't get too expensive.  If it does I'll make a kit out of it.

Dyscrasia

It would be awesome if that Troodon came out as a 1/3 or even 1/2 statue~

Don't we already have two Styracosaurs by David (Sideshow & Antediluvian Collection)?

amargasaurus cazaui

That looks stunning and is so well posed and textured. Just an amazing dinosaur altogether. I find the eyes and tail fan especially well done.
I hope the feet to base area is more solid than it looks. If people print this at Shapeways using the higher detail materials, that looks rather weak, and might shatter similar to my Psittacosaurus that I attempted to do in clear frosted detail. If I understand correctly when you use the frosted detail it is hollow. Shapeways refused to reprint the figure in a lesser material and made me accept their broken attempt, and ten percent off my non existent next order.

The best Troodon sculpture I have ever laid eyes upon.

I could say the same thing about Tyrannosaurus rex.The two from the Antediluvian line, the big "Rex Mundi" one and the Sideshow one didn't stop the two from shapeways (one of which also ending up being available as a 1/40 resin kit) from coming out.
Besides, the Sideshow Styracosaurus is out of production and I will never be able to get a hold of it as a result,so from my point of view mentioning that one is useless as an argument as to why another one should not turn up.

After seeing the wonderful feather texturing on this Troodon, I'm inclined to suggest Deinonychus for an upcoming model. I imagine it would look fantastic.

krentz

Wow!  Glad you guys like it!  I'll do a Shapeways version..I mean..why not?  It doens't cost me anything;-)  I will seriously consider larger than 1/18, but I don't wan't to too big because I don't think the details will hold up.  There are so many great little dinos that even 1/40 or 1/18 are too small for, it would be nice to try bigger.

Oh yeah, I'm working my way through a Spinosaurus at the moment.  Probably by the end of the week I'll post it, depending on how busy work is.  I'm settled on a pose, so thats the hard part for me.  1/72 and 1/40 for sure.

??? Are you crazy? I never said that another one should not turn up.    ;D
You just sounded as if you'd never seen one.

Nice ! Will definitely be in on the 1/40. :)

Look forward to these. Curious, will you be making any other cute chunky dinos like the little Allo? I love those and fun to paint.  :))
