Can anyone who owns a reissued one speak as to the accuracy of the model? I haven't really been able to find any high quality well-lit photos online.

Have you seen Postsaurischian's photos?

He had a good comparison between the old and the new.

Thanks for the help. From what I can tell it seems pretty accurate except for maybe the tail being a bit thin at the base.

The tail is a bit thin.  The legs are a little too straight for my total liking..but in-plausible ,I'm not sure. The teeth on the re-issue are better as is the paint apps. Though the older one seems to have a bit more detail. It's the same problem the Bellowing Rex model and it's re-issue have really.

No one's saying anything about how it literally has crocodile plates on its back?

Besides that, it's a pretty cool figure.
What I love about Allosaurus is that it lived an extremely violent life that was rife with broken bones, cuts, scrapes, infections, sprains, and yet it just kept on truckin.

Just big osteoderms..the armor is actually pretty cool to me. Just consider when it produced though, that explains why it has them.

Nope. It's an old model, and can be excused on those grounds.

Alrighty. I mean, don't get me wrong, they look fantastic on this critter, I just thought it was weird that no one was bringing it up when it seemed to me like the OP was asking about accuracy.

Would it be at all possible to adjust their position to a more natural level?

tyrantqueen

Being made of vinyl, it is possible to bend them. But it won't look natural. A better idea would be use a knife and epoxy putty to modify the legs. Of course, that would require some skill as a model builder.

Exactly. I would send it right to Martin for such a thing as he certain has the experience to do it and make it look awesome.
