I've never been a completest, there are too many figures in each line that I just flat don't like and I don't want something I don't like for the sake of completion. But when I first started this hobby I thought I might try to collect the entire Invicta and Battat lines, now with Battat I'm not so motivated. A big part of that is due to the abundance of affordable, quality figures that are available now. In fact, now I look at many of the Battat figures I do have and wonder if I even want them anymore. Many of them don't display well with what I have. I still want the rest of the Invicta line though, nothing really compares to them.

I'm like that with newer lines, Mojo, CollectA, PNSO, and Wild Safari, I only buy what I like of of them. i guess as I said there are just too many now.  Since I'm not very interested in mammals, that stops me from completing most lines.

To be perfectly honest, if Battat were to announce tomorrow that they're going to finally release the rest of those repaints and the new moulds, I'd be thrilled for everyone here, but I seriously doubt I'd go out of my way to track them all down, especially if they were being sold exclusively in the US.

I'd still be interested in a few of the harder to find reissues (Maiasaura and Ouranosaurus) and the Europasaurus and Gastonia as well. But, I won't be heartbroken if they never come out.

Shonisaurus

Just as time reissues Battat figures even those figures of commercially unpublished dinosaurs that were interrupted after the dramatic death of Dans Lorusso. I don't lose hope. The diplodocus may even be re-marketed. But honestly I have the whole collection of Battat dinosaurs and as a collector I am happy, but my personal recommendation to DTF members who do not spend too much on those figures. For one of them you can buy the entire collection of Safari and Mojo at a much lower price and I fall short. I comment as a friend, but yes if one is a compulsive collector as was my case (now I am not) surely my words will be wasted.

I sincerely hope for a reissue of Battat figures nothing is impossible in this life and the reissue of Battat figures is not impossible even if they are discontinued for now. We must not lose hope.

Yeah, mammals were an important factor when it came to my decision to not be a completist as well.

Stuckasaurus (Dino Dad Reviews)

The Ouranosaurus is the one other Battat figure that I really wish had come out. None of the other versions on the market really do it for me. The two nodosaurs would've been cool, too, but at least other companies seem to be giving this clade some love now.

I've wondered why Ouranosaurus is so...ignored? Anything with a sail is usually instantly desirable...

It's also an Ornothopod, which cancels having a sail out. Sure, we might love them, but they are rather unpopular with kids and those people who are only interested in the "cool" Dinosaurs, despite often fitting the "bigger, louder, more teeth" they want.

The Battat ouranosaurus is the best of its kind in the toy dinosaur market by far. No one has made an ouranosaurus as beautiful as Battat's.

Gwangi

The Battat Ouranosaurus is a gem for sure but it's only a matter of time before another company usurps it. My guess would be CollectA since they've done a few similar genera.

YES. I would love that Ouranosaurus. It just looks better, than most of the Figures that are in the Market. A Beautiful Animal.

If it is of the same quality and beauty as the counterpart of its kind, the Collecta iguanodon deluxe, of course Collecta is assured of success.

I would love to see CollectA (if not Safari Ltd) offer a new one (alongside many of the obscure or niche ornithopods like Olorotitan and Tsintaosaurus, etc). It is also sad how the Battat is still quite easily the best on the market but is also not as easy to come by due to how long ago its been retired. Their Maiasaura and Edmontonia are also some of the best despite the same issue the Ouranosaurus suffers from.

Edit: I would certainly love to see Battat reissue those as well, but I won't count on it.

It will be interesting to see if the Jurassic World: Evolution game will influence releases from toy companies. Then you would get animals like Tsintaosaurus and Ouranosaurus. The game is bringing a lot of dinosaurs into the limelight and I was very pleased by the assortment of ornithopods it offered up.

Thats interesting. I had to download remodels for alot of Animals in the Game. A lot of the Models just look way too Jurassic Worldish, wich is kind of okay, because its a Franchise Game. But still. This Franchise has a lot of Power, when it comes to Dinosaurs. But i think most of the People are interested in the Classic Theropods and in general Monsterlike Killingmachines, that are far from actual Animals. But we'll see!

In extremely unexpected news, I found a bunch of Battat Terra dinosaurs at a KMart here yesterday, including everything but the T. rex, Acrocanthosaurus, Cryolophosaurus, and Nanshiungosaurus; as such I'm currently only missing the therizinosaur now from my Terra collection. A friend on twitter found some at another KMart as well; seems like the Australian distribution for these toys has switched from TK Maxx, which would explain why I've never found them on my recent visits to that store.

They also had the large electronic figures, if anyone cares about those.

Also, are Battats in scale to each other? I heard somewhere that they're meant to be...

They're supposed to generally adhere to a 1/40 standard, though that appears to sometimes be a bit of a hit or miss thing.

It could be because of inaccurate estimates of the animals' size being used; the Dacentrurus comes out at around 1/60 in my measurements, but that's because it was made before the species was estimated to be around ~9-10 metres long.

SidB

It's true of the older ones too, the 1994, '96 and '98 releases. I vaguely recollect that somewhere in the deep recesses of the Battat thread there exists an accurate re-assessment of the scales of these classics. Perhaps someone remembers where it is. I know that I used to try to hew to the 1/40 scale as closely as possible, but like a lot of people, I put a whole less store in it now, though I still do try to focus on a 1/35 - 1/40 ish rangel, at least nominally.
