I've slightly widened the blog's layout for monitor screens.

Not sure if this has been discussed, but I see now the 'Contents' is buried under 'More'. I think the Contents page is something that would be heavily used (I use it all the time when searching for a figure or genus) and might be better if visible on the banner itself.

Another possibility is to put the Contents under 'Explore' rather than 'More' since that might be intuitive for someone searching for a particular figure, brand, etc.

You're right, so I just moved Contents to Explore. I need to ensure all first level menu items fit on one row (on monitor screens) so I have to nest some menu items.

So I was wanting to browse some more of the Mattel reviews on the blog. I clicked page or tab 2 of the quick links section, and they all disappear, and I'm getting a message simply saying "bye", lol. Is this happening to anyone else?

Edit: Working fine on my mobile firefox, but not my desktop one. Maybe one of my browser addons is breaking it, but that "bye" message is pretty funny to see.

How odd. I can't seem to reproduce the error (Safari or Chrome on Macbook). The quick links are controlled by a plugin, I'll check it's up to date...

The same thing happens to me with the CollectA, Mattel, PNSO, and Safari pages on Chrome. I think it's all of them.

Is it just the Quick Links section that is blank and says "bye"? Or are all the review excerpts missing too?

Huh, that's so weird, I can't explain it. Thanks for the screenshot. It definitely looks like a plugin problem, but the plugin is up to date. I might have to deactivate the quicklinks section while I investigate, so don't fret if they disappear completely.

DinoToyForum

I made some changes, does the "bye" problem persist?

It's fixed!

Thanks! I'm not completely sure how I fixed it, but I'll take the win anyway!  <:j

suspsy

Yup, it's working for me now as well.

Thanks for letting me know!

And thanks avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin for flagging it in the first place, I had no idea.

Do people use the Quick Links sections often? I'm thinking about removing them for a couple of reasons. Firstly, they are a bit sluggish to load and slow the site down. Secondly, they don't obey the filters, so if someone filters by, say, Brand: Mattel, and Genus: Velociraptor, the posts will be filtered to show only Mattel Velociraptors, but the Quick Links at the top will still show all Mattel reviews. It's not a big deal though, so if the Quick Links truly add value we can keep them. I rarely use them.

Faelrin

I've used them a little bit, but I also use the filters.

That said I wouldn't oppose removal if it were to benefit performance.

The Columbian mammoth will be debuting on the blog next week, meaning we'll have three unique species all tagged as Mammuthus. What do we think about specifying the species type for Mammuthus in all the reviews?

Yep, let's do it. And/or the species 'common names'?

Yes, that makes sense. I can go back and gradually edit my own woolly mammoth reviews, and the guest ones as well. I believe we only have two steppe mammoth reviews, Papo and Eofauna, but there's 39 woolly mammoth reviews the last time I checked.

Don't worry, I can do them in bulk. :)
