I recently redrew my woolly mammoth and colored copies to depict the different hair colors they could have (though I haven't finished the blonde one yet):

Woolly Mammoth ("Typical" Hair Color)

Woolly Mammoth (Ginger Hair Color)

Both are based on Scott Hartman's skeletal.

Thanks! More ice age animals to come soon (many more).

I guess I forgot to put this here, but I have now completely changed the format of the Trilogy of Prehistory. The main reason for this is that it would be much cheaper to make (fewer models to make, fewer species to animate, fewer locations to film in, etc.).

Also, I changed the format of these series back from six episodes to ten episodes, so now I was able to add some of the original episodes back in (ex: Riversleigh) and add more new episodes that I felt needed to be in there (ex: Mascarene Islands). This new format also gives me more room to depict the impact of humans on wildlife than I would otherwise be able to do. I have added some of the best sequences from the original series' into these new ones to insure that they will be made in one form or another.

Another reason is that I do think this will be much more likely to actually be made because I don't think that the BBC is just going to give me the huge budget required for the original series, and, if these series' are a success, the BBC will be more likely to make the other series Balaur and I are working on such as the Prehistoric Earth series (Paleozoic Earth, Mesozoic Earth, Cenozoic Earth, and The Blue Past) and the Past and Present series (http://bbc-past-and-present.wikia.com/wiki/Past_and_Present_Wiki), the latter being one I know believe is a particularly important one for us to be able to make.

"The world's still the same. There's just less in it."

Yutyrannus

Finally a new picture :):

Velociraptor

Of course, it is based on Scott Hartman's skeletal.

Also, expect a horde of Tyrannosaurus pictures soon (hopefully...).

"The world's still the same. There's just less in it."

Balaur

Wow! That's amazing! Great job on the colouration and the wing.  :)

Yutyrannus

Thank you! I think that it is definitely an improvement over my previous renditions of this animal.

"The world's still the same. There's just less in it."

Concavenator

It looks great!Keep up the good work.

Yutyrannus

The first of many drawings of this particular species you will see:

Tyrannosaurus (Stan)

Obviously based on Scott Hartman's skeletal. The integument is very conservative, not completely feathered and not completely scaly, all of the areas where scales or bare skin are known in Tyrannosaurus and (completely by accident) Tarbosaurus are unfeathered in the drawing. Unfortunately the scars on his face are not as obvious as I'd hoped to make them so I'll try to do a better job with that on the other Tyrannosaurus drawings I'll be making.

"The world's still the same. There's just less in it."

Yutyrannus

Here is a preview of the field guide I mentioned a while back:

"The world's still the same. There's just less in it."

Yutyrannus

I finally finished a new picture ;D:

Balaur bondoc

Drawn from Jaime Headden's skeletal and the pictures of maniraptoran eggs in that recent paper about theropod egg coloration. The coloration of Balaur itself is from this drawing by Balaur: http://yutyrannus.deviantart.com/art/The-Alaskan-Ghost-541936522

Hopefully I will be able to finish and post the new Bradycneme, Nanuqsaurus, Mosasaurus hoffmannii, and Taniwhasaurus soon :).

"The world's still the same. There's just less in it."

fabricious

I like seeing your improvement with every piece!

(If I may be so curious: what movie is the .gif in your signature from?)

Yutyrannus

Thank you! I really like a lot of your more recent art as well :).

It's from Sea Monsters 3D :).

"The world's still the same. There's just less in it."

fabricious

Balaur

That's awesome! The wing is incredible!

Yutyrannus

Thank you :)!

And here is another new piece of concept art for World of the Archosaurs:

Nanuqsaurus hoglundi

As references I used Scott Hartman's Lythronax skeletal and the Nanuqsaurus skull reconstruction from the paper. The coloration is, once again, a reference to its namesake.

"The world's still the same. There's just less in it."

Balaur

Yutyrannus

Thank you! It looks better in real life though.

As is the case for most of my drawings. :)

Also, how's the polar dinosaur book going?
