I can imagine it.
"Dr. Grimes, my dear Dr. Michonne. Welcome to Jurassic Park!"
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Well, some of Hasbro's offering already look like that.

Here's a review of the new Stomp and Strike Rex :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=_bM2GGv09uY

More than likely I'll get one to keep in the box...that said I really can't believe some of these people who say it's the best Rex in a JP toyline.. The green JP3 Ultimate Rex was so much better sculpt wise even..one he didn't compare it to.

Paleona

Oh wow, I didn't realize these were in stores already!  Thanks for posting the video.

Unfortunately, I'm not impressed with it at all, even though I was looking forward to it when I saw earlier images.  =/  That rubber tail is very weird and... floppy.  I don't know why Hasbro kept the overbite that the Chomping rex has, too.  Also, I was expecting the screw holes, but whhyyy on the face??  Ugh.  The whole thing just looks really cheap, compared to pretty much all the previous rexes.  The sounds are pretty fun, but I'll stick with my Bull T.rex!

Blade-of-the-Moon

It's just now hitting apparently. I might get one, leave it in the box...but yeah it's no real prize, best Rex in the JW Hasbro line I guess..but that's not saying much.. lol

Blade-of-the-Moon

Anyone excited for the T-Rex Lockdown Playset?  I know I was hoping to get a new gate and some fence pieces to use with other figures...turns out Hasbro can still stick us..even with re-issues.

Turns out the fence pieces are only 3-5" tall. Not the same scale as the original ones from the Command Compound or the Raptor set for JP3.

Now this Anonymous quote really says something about how cheap Hasbro is :

Btw, I have the T-Rex Lock-down play set in person. Hasbro got so cheap that they put a cardboard cut-out of a gyro-Sphere driver and shrunk the entire vehicle down to around 1.25 inches. They couldn't even include a regular Gyro... It never seizes to amaze me how many corners Hasbro can cut. Wonder if we will get cardboard dinosaurs next. /s"

oh no cardboard dinos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The S&S T.rex is ... well I'm obviously disappointed, but not as disappointed as with others. It's my favorite of the bunch, and that says a lot about this line.

Cardboard pieces??! Oh man! The T.rex isn't very good - it lacks in character and likeness to the movie counterpart. Which is funny - Hasbro has access to a vast amount of reference material from four different movies and they still failed. Hey - they could even have recycled the Kenner molds.

This, exactly this. With today's advances in 3D scanning and printing and how affordable it's become there is no reason for us not to get almost 100% accuracy..at least in terms of the computer image used and accounting for play features.  They could have made a collector line as Star Wars has..just it drives me up the wall thinking how cheap they went in the end. We received a toy line not much above a Playskool level for the most part.

Getting the T-Rex this wrong was a travesty really..the JP design has been copied by just about every toy manufacturer on the planet since 93'some better than others.  How hard , really, would it have been to give us a Papo-level of detail in a figure the size of the Strike and Stomp?

At this point, I think it would be beneficial to have the JP/JW license go to a company that makes good dinosaur or animal figurines like Papo or even Rebor. They won't quite have the playability of the Kenner/Hasbro pieces but would probably look dramatically better. I'm not betting on this to ever happen, though.

I'm sure Neca would love to have it and would knock it out of the Park so to speak. But Hasbro has a deathgrip on the license and prefers to just shake it whenever they feel like it.

What I don't get is why the license can't be divided up? They didn't do people or vehicles , Jada did vehicles this time so there had to be something there.  When Godzilla came out there was a mediocre toy line then there was the Neca collectibles.  So why doesn't Neca do a collectible line for JP? Does Hasbro hold that too?   Our best hope is that Universal will see that Hasbro is a detriment to the franchise and will step in and say something in the interest of money to be made.

Looks like the super pinnacle of this line might have a few..issues.

Jetoar

Is it problem of the rubber or painting ?
[Off Nick and Eddie's reactions to the dinosaurs] Oh yeah "Ooh, aah", that's how it always starts. But then there's running and screaming.

{about the T-Rex) When he sees us with his kid isn't he gonna be like "you"!?
