Just saw the Spinosaurus pics. Ugh. Just ugh. I've never liked REBOR (as many of you well know), but at least they used to make their own inaccurate dinosaurs instead of just ripping off someone else's inaccurate dinosaurs.

There's a fairly large difference in quality between pre-production prototypes and the final version. The V-rex turned out pretty well. Even when dinosaur models are relatively finished...there still exists a large margin with respect to quality and delivery. People were ridiculing the Papo Theri (calling it a DeviantArt fetish hack). Now, it is regarded as Papo's finest!

Papo therizinosaurus is perhaps the best that Papo has made, but we must also take into account the quetzalcoatlus of the same brand. As a theropod from my point of view they are also good spinosaurus and tyrannosaurus running I find them at the same level.

avatar_Takama @Takama Totally in agreement with you Rebor behaved with the members of the DTF and with the forum in a terrible way. They lacked humility, maybe now they have more. As far as I know, Papo has never failed to respect any DTF member or discredited the forum, it is a reason to love Papo. That does not mean that Rebor now makes attractive figures regardless of the opinion of their owners with us and the pujas and provocations that unfortunately members of that company poured on dinotoyblog.com/forum Totally agree with you, but we must forget. I sincerely like Papo, and his figures are epic without denying that there are Rebor figures such as deinosuchus and postosuchus that are well made.

For what it's worth I try to give Papo plenty of flak.

Well i never exactly wanted a jp Spino but since i have two sections in my collection, one for jp dinodaurs and one for non jp ones i think the spino is a good addition. Most likely better than Papos 2005 one and only because papo was just starting, they have gotten better every year since then

Hah, me too!
Honestly, I think the animosity toward both REBOR and Papo appears to have mellowed out a bit over time.

Sure, if you like ripoffs of movie monsters as opposed to dinosaurs.

It is? That is news to me. When did that happen?

There were many negative comments on the Therizinosaurus when it was originally revealed. As Syndicate Bias stated, many called it pregnant looking or DeviantArt fetish. Most of the comments begin around here http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=6100.180

I got the impression that he meant 'when was it decided that it's among their finest?'

Ceratosaurus

Now that I read it I see it like that also. It may not be their finest but the mood about the figure has changed quite a bit from the release of the first photos til now.

I don't know. I consider it to be one of the best papos aside from the acrocanthosaurus and ceratosaurus and apatosaurus and brachiosaurus

Syndicate Bias

Maybe once I see the quetzalcoatlus i will change one of those. I ordered it already last week, hopefully it's better than expected.

I feel inclined to point out here that the people who called the Therizinosaurus a DeviantArt fetish aren't the same people who are constantly praising it.

...but at least they used to make their own inaccurate dinosaurs instead of just ripping off someone else's inaccurate dinosaurs.

What's the point of even complaining about REBOR being 'innacurate'? It is (and it was) ad nauseum to post anything that boils down to 'REBOR is inaccurate/rude'. The fact that you still want REBOR to be accurate after years of complaining with nothing done shows this perfectly well.

Also, as Shadowknight1 pointed out, Papo did that a long time ago, yet they don't seem get as much criticism, all because of events (which would admittedly, leave a bitter taste in peoples' mouthes, but should have been forgotten about by now) that happened a few years ago.

Well this is exciting...they have confirmed there is both a Stygimoloch and Stegosaurus in the works! 😁

EDIT: there are pictures of both on Instagram, but I am unable to post pictures. If anyone can assist that would be great!! Stegosaurus https://www.instagram.com/p/BmgUTvrnRFu/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=pvbxwk042vvg

I'm glad to see they are finally doing some more herbivores. I wonder if the Ankylosaurus was a success for them. No doubt the Stygimoloch will based off of Fallen Kingdom, but at least its something. I wonder if Papo will be doing the same next year.

Although these have been already mentioned, here are the pics from REBOR's facebook page.

Stegosaurus armatus

Stygimoloch spinifer

Accuracy aside, I think both look pretty sweet, and I'm also glad to finally see some herbivores (besides Ankylosaurus) that are not dead

Jose S.M.

This look actually good for what they are (lot of JP influences there).

Minmiminime

I'll wait and see how the Stygimoloch turns out, but I'm definitely very interested in the Stegosaurus 😊

Hey, these are actually rather neat! I like the pose chosen for the Stygimoloch.

Syndicate Bias

Between PNSO and Rebor I am very excited for this. I had it in my mind that a stygi would
be awesome. Honestly I was hoping for a well done one and this is it! So far their Spino and stygi are on my must haves list.
