Wow! That base looks REALLY nice! Looking forward to getting this one. Hopefully it won't take Dan's Dinosaurs too long to get their stock in, that's were I ordered mine from.

It would almost be worth it just for the base.  Say what you will about the accuracy of the dinosaur, that base is fan-freaking-tastic.
I'm excited for REBOR's Acro!  Can't ya tell?

You know, it's kind of insulting that JC has the same enthusiasm for this beautiful peice as he does for the horrid Jurrasic World toys.

I guess he just really loves all dinosaur toys equally...

Except the Dimorphodon, he didn't like that one very much.

It's probably a marketing conundrum of sorts. In order to be eligible for early access and exclusive previews from said company, a keen reviewer can never be anything less than starkly diplomatic. You have to read in between the lines.

REBOR Ceratosaurus

Commentary:
Absolutely amazing sculpt. REBOR seems to have outdone themselves with this one. It will be difficult for collectors to continue to make knee-jerk comparisons to Papo when this model appears to be light years beyond any of Papo's best efforts. Judging from the video, the Ceratosaurus appears to be superior in quality and presentation than the previously released pictures and there are no evidences of skin 'pruning'; the scales, in and of itself, appear to be oriented in a believable, naturalistic orientation (so much for those random comic-book comparisons). This is the definitive, dream Ceratosaurus, and I really doubt that any mass-retail toy or model will ever top it.

tyrantqueen

I hope the Ceratosaurus does not have issues standing either. It looks like a nice model (aside from the fungus scales which I personally do not care for).

joossa

The coloration is just fantastic. It's great to finally see a high quality, highly detailed Ceratosaurus that isn't super duper expensive. I'm so excited to get mine and even more excited for the infamous big footed Acrocanthosaurus.

I concur. The bases for these models really makes them stand out from the competition. I couldn't begin to guess on their scientific accuracy, but they make for an impressive display. I think I may add a few of these to my shelf, including the Ceratosaurus.

I wonder what Rebor is planning as the companion piece for the T-Rex? The only thing holding me back from ordering it is the clumsy little rock he must balance on, and that's a major turn off.

Dinomike

That Ceratosaurus is simply dashing! Amazing! I like that reviewer at Jurassic collectibles - he sound so friendly.

I had asked the that a few months ago in the general discussion thread and they made it sound like I had the right idea.

Rebor, may I make a suggestion?

Would it be possible to make a based for your T-rex to be sold separately? The bases that are comming with your latest products look very nice and a base for you T-rex would be great. Possiy include a dead or dying Dino like edmontosaurus or triceratops to have the rex resting its foot on. Wit that it may also attract people who didn't buy the T-rex but would like a nice diorama base to use with other subjects or even just buy you Rex.  I think it would be great. Just a thought.

Chris

You can always figure out our plans ;)

They have more recently said it may include a "Prince" to go with the "King" too. I agree the rock pedestal is a bit silly.

I also like very much the reborn ceratosaurus is a notable improvement over the previous figures, but the problem from my point of view lies in the sustainability of the figure.

Does anyone know if kept without the support base as yutyrannus?

ItsTwentyBelow

I am interested in this Ceratosaurus, but I could not believe that after nearly 10 minutes of blabbering about the figure, the reviewer didn't even answer my simple question: how well does it stand without the base?
