Fantastic work as usual. Can't wait to see it coloured in the Future. If that will happen.
Looking forward to new Sculpts and are you willing to tell us, how long the whole sculpting Process was with the Styracosaurus? To me, this would be really interesting. avatar_Kayakasaurus @Kayakasaurus

I just checked and I did it over the course of 19 days

I always get the impression from the videos that everything gets done in one day, but that might be because I have to watch them without sound. How many different bakes do you do on a sculpture this size?

Ah, thank you. This is a really good Information. 19 Days kalms me down :D Seeing alot of sculptingvideos, theres often the feel to it that a highly detailed sculpt was done over the duration of 1 or 3 Days :D Its the Nature of the media and how Onlinevideos work these days.

Keep up the good work. You are supporting the Dinosaur Art Community a lot. More than you might think.

Regards.

I baked it 10 times, 3 for the armature, 3 for the body (body, tail, feet) and 4 for the whole head. So yeah it takes a while but it's enjoyable

Yeah I could see that, I wish I was faster haha. Speaking of editing online videos, I took the 5 minute head sculpting segment and edited it down to 1 min for social media, https://www.instagram.com/p/CMuuzLllHq5/?igshid=54d2nflenujk I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on it compared to the original. It shows less and it's also cut at a faster pace. Is 20 minutes too long for a sculpting video?

Thanks for the encouragement

High time you made a Styracosaurus  ;)

Very well done.

Sorry for the late reply, i do not use Instagram but saw the Video. Well done and i would say it fits a Platform like Instagram perfectly. In your normal Youtube Video, i would say, that i prefer the longer Version. Of course it depends on the reason why someone watches the video, too. They are calm and they look professional, and they are fun to watch. A big reason to watch a Video. For me, i watch them, because i want to see you sculpting Dinosaurs and maybe see a tip here and there. Or a creative sculpting solution. So to me, longer, more detailed Videos are always welcome :D And no, i wouldn't say that 20 Minutes is too long.

And a question, did you recut some of your older videos? I have the feeling, that a few used to be longer. But maybe i just remember it wrong :D

Great styrac figure, deserves to be produced by one of the major dino toy companies.

Hey everyone, since I was nearing a subscriber milestone I went and found all my old sculptures and made a video on them. It's a little personal to this forum where I first posted, and the video starts before even that. Thanks to everyone here who remembers these, and for buying my casts, I had no $ so that went straight to supplies to make more haha. Oh and I skipped over a lot of sculpts that weren't scale models, otherwise this video would be all over the place lol.

Awesome! avatar_Kayakasaurus @Kayakasaurus - it's been a pleasure to watch your work progress through the years, you have come a long way!

You have blossomed into a real talented artist right before our eyes!😃
You have a really good professional future in sculpting prehistoric animals .

I'm fortunate to have some of your earlier works.😃

Seeing how your art evolved over the years is so cool. I think those very early sculptures are pretty charming, especially that blue Brachiosaurus (Giraffatitan?). Were those made in paper mache?

Thanks for sharing this! Looking forward to seeing your next projects.

Those were a mess haha, they were also air dry clay but the clay shrunk over the armature causing large cracks everywhere so I coated them in polyester resin since I was using fiberglass at the time to build a kayakasaurus.

Thanks avatar_Dinoreplicas @Dinoreplicas Your Styracosaurus skull was a very useful reference! I noticed a lot of models have the p3 significantly longer than the p4 when they're close to the same size, probably because it looks shorter from the side in 2D because it's angled out. I put a link to your shop in the video's description.

Hey everyone, I made a Sinopterus. I was looking for a small pterosaur to do and settled on this guy. I had to speculate on the shape of the crest a little but it's informed by the skull shape of other Sinopterus specimens and close relatives. Unlike my previous polymer clay only models, with this one I got to add different types of materials and techniques which was fun. Also my first time air brushing. The only part that isn't in the video is the hair spray which gives it a more natural look.

Wow!  Amazingly life-like.  All the details are excellent.  The fur looks great, and the skin textures on the feet and the face are really convincing.  Definitely museum quality.

Super result. Your videos are so well put together too!

Glorious! You've outdone yourself this time.

Wonderful sculpt as always!

(It really is a shame that David Peters has entered this crazy crusade against everything and everyone, because in this case, the model on which you based your figure is very close to the fossil.)
