Interesting story; thanks for linking. It's always neat to hear about how various extinct animal populations held out in certain regions more recently than previously thought.

Great article.  It highlights the fact that we don't know exactly how long many species lived, and where they lived.  The further back in history you go, the murkier it becomes.  Since we can only use the evidence that is presented to us, we will never know the full story, just part of one.
