I just realized I didn't have reasonably high quality pictures about Kanna Dinosaur Center exclusive resin figure from 2019 Expo in Japan.
So here they are..  ;)

Recently I helped my friend from PaleoNerd with some pictures to review PNSO Winter Wilson Tyrannosaurus.

Few weeks ago I received my 1:18 Dimetrodon sculpted by David Silva (Creative Beast) and painted by Martin Garratt for Urzeitshop

Thinking about Permian, the iconic animal from that era is Dimetrodon

In almost every museum around the world there is a skeletal with a note : Dimetrodon is NOT a dinosaur but it's from synapsida..

So Dimetrodon was closer to mammals than reptiles or dinosaurs.
Actually there are no extant animals like Dimetrodon so it's really difficult to speculate how it really looked like..

Despite of that, classic Dimetrodon' illustrations look very "reptilian"..

Papo Dimetrodon was like that:

A couple of years ago Scott Hartman did a new skeletal restoration:

CollectA Dimetrodon was inspired by that:

Over the web there are Dimetrodon representations with a "strong" mammalian look:

( copyright @ Blackhood Art on DeviantArt )

Probably that's simply too much..

More recent interpretations look like that:

(copyright Robert Fabiani)

In my collection I have very different Dimetrodon' interpretations:

My last 1:18 Dimetrodon by Silva is on the "reptilian" side:

I really hope that a more "mammalian" Dimetrodon will be available as soon as possible  ;)

Wonderful photos of Wilson followed by all those stunning photos of Dimetrodon figures you have acquired. Congratulations on the recently acquired sculpture.

Thank you for continuing to share this panorama of treasures with us.

The Dimetrodon by Silva looks amazing.
It also looks like the statue was made especially for you, to fit perfectly on that self in the back ground with the other beasts.  ^-^
What an eye catcher!

Seeing that walk through time with all those Dimetrodon artworks and figures is quite something. Truly love your Paleozoic model kit and/or statue shelf (plus one Triassic Postosuchus). Truly a feast for the eyes. I cannot recall if I have seen the Tully Monster one before though? Who made that? Love the swampy base it sports as well. Anyways as usual thanks for sharing such wonderful photos of all these.

Edit: I realize that despite its prominence on the market I don't have a single model of Dimetrodon this many years into collecting yet (not counting the Mattel one which I consider in separate collection from my non JP/JW stuff). At least there's plenty of options.

That's the Vitali Klatt model kit. Really fantastic sculpture with a Calamites base.

Quite an impressive array of Dimetrodon!
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

A great summery and a beautiful new Dimetrodon. As i said before, someday: I really like, that you are often buying the Statues from Urzeitshop, so we all get great photos of it : ) So, they aren't "lost and gone"
Every Time i recently scrolled down this page, i always have to stop at the Resin Deinocheirus. I do not know why exactly. It is the headsculpt. I really love the head and the atmosphere it creates in me. Lovely.

Bokisaurus

Ah, its always wonderful to go through this tours, so much beautiful figures to admire! It always amaze me how the same figure always looks different when you see it in another persons collection! Thanks for the tour, really enjoyed it! :)

Shonisaurus

Silva's dimetrodon is the most beautiful of all the ones you have in your collection. What a complete collection you have of prehistoric animals! My congratulations. As always the photographs are typical of a specialist as indicated in your thread on how to take photographs. This thread encourages anyone to compulsively collect dinosaurs. Thanks for sharing.

Megalosaurus

Sobreviviendo a la extinción!!!

Psittacoraptor

What a wonderful thread with fantastic photography. I'm in awe of your extremely impressive and varied collection.

PhilSauria

Magnificent photos of some magnificent models. Thanks for posting these.

I think, for my money, the GR Carcharodontosaurus might just have the edge over the PNSO, and that's no mean feat given the quality of PNSO these days. I'll be ordering the PNSO but I don't think my funds will stretch to the GR, unfortunately.

Bokisaurus

Awesome! Is that GR charca the blue version? I hope mine turns out as good as yours, looks absolutely amazing colors! I ordered mine but haven't gotten it yet.
That M-see model is just stunning! I wanted to grab one as well.😃

ITdactyl

M.See studio really has a way with pterosaurs. 'Hope to own one of their pieces someday.

...and what weird angle did you have to contort yourself into to take that Mamenchisaurus shot? ;D
