Ugly Ugly Dinosaurs

OK, so I'd like to start a new thread dedicated to horrible, cheapy dinosaur toys. Come one, come all, and share your photos of Chinasaurs - the more bizarre, the better.

A couple of rules, though:

1) They have to be your photos - no nicking stuff from the internet. I want to see original photos of Chinasaurs out in the wild, or in people's collections. You can only take stuff from Plasticosauria if you happen to be paleofreak. ;)

2) That's it.

Enjoy! Here are some museum-quality replicas from the Natural History Museum (London) gift shop.

And here's a bizarre T. rex from Dierenpark Amersfoort. (Rather large image, sorry.)

So the London Natural History Museum sells this now? As outdated a lot Invictas may be, they were for sure better than that.

Upper Styracosaurus is like: Hi Guys! Can I join you?
Styracosaurus herd: Hell no! Go away!
The Triceratops looks rather fabolous. The colors remind me of something. Maybe it does not exist and is part of an drug-induced halucination the T. rex has. Remember Kids, don't do drugs.

Maybe I should post some aswell. I'm currently near a source of some funny Chinasaurs.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Please do! That's what I'm aiming for here. Chinasaurs in the wild.

And if people give you funny looks for taking pictures of toys while grinning like an idiot, pay no heed to them.

Great idea, this thread is going to be fun! ;D Actually I think the uppermost Styracosaurus looks a little like it's about to cry because of the running black paint of the pupil.  :'( ;D Are the eyes of that Tyrannosaurus moveable? :)

Oh Lord, won't you buy me a T-rex by Krentz? My friends all have Sideshow, I must make amends.

Not that I remember - just googly and weird. Like they'd been stolen from a human doll.

I have a lot of what many people would consider "ugly" toys. However they're special (to me) 'cause they were given by a very close friend.

The Reptilian Lion

Unicerotops

Two headed black and red theropod. Looks like something straight out of a bad Japanese monster movie, but I love it  ^-^

I have more than this, but I don't feel like going and photographing every one.

Himmapaan

Well, now I shall have to photograph my 'favourite' sauropod the next time I visit the NHM, shan't I...

Does it have to be a chinasaur? I have several extremely ugly dinosaurs, but they are not chinasaurs.
My living room smells like old plastic dinosaur toys... Better than air freshener!

DinoToyForum

Great idea for a thread! Here's one for ya', feast your eyes on this! The label under the base says Velociraptor mongoliensis. Quite specific.

And here he is from his good side.  ::)

Crackington

Here's my daughter, Miss Crackington the Elder's contribution, which she named "Wrongosaurus". It went missing for a while and she was overjoyed when it turned up under the settee. Even an ugly old chinasaur can be loved!

DinoToyForum

There's a common theme emerging, many of these have ridiculously wide open mouths. Say "ahhhh".

Himmapaan

I shall do more than say it. I shall scream 'AHHHHHH!' and run from that Velociraptor.  :o ;D

i find this unbearably ugly:
the dachshund sauropod

(i accidentally deleted the pic from my pic host. oops)
"you know you have a lot of prehistoric figures if you have at least twenty items per page of the prehistoric/dinosaur section on ebay." - anon.

Great stuff everyone, keep them coming! Adam, I want to know where you got that Velociraptor, purely out of fear that there might be...others.

Ugly toys can have their charm, especially if they're comical or surreal (like the three you posted). There's a reason I started its thread...they're great fun to browse through!

If you have eg. the Schleich Ceratosaurus....that's good enough ;D

It was a present but I can't recall where from. There are no brand markings. The company is probably too ashamed to associate themselves with the abomination. It's a bit of a paradox because the resin material it's made of, the felt-padded base, the detailed identification label, all scream quality. But look at it!

I don't see anything wrong with it. It's supposed to be a zombie velociraptor fetus (right?)

For some reason, I like the T. rex and the Velociraptor.

Well, I thought about it, and I've decided I don't really want it.

Just what I need, another excuse to photograph toys.  :)) Seriously though, this is a great thread idea. I have a small collection of chinasaurs from various eBay lots, here are some of the more memorable ones.

What is wrong with his elbows?  :o

One Safari toy not aloud in my collection.

At least it is not a tripod?

More cute than ugly.

He only has one brow horn! Kinda takes the "tri" out of Triceratops.

Why are so many of these ceratopsians?

And these two who actually have places in my collection.

Too much sharing? They'll probably be more in the future.
