A dinosaur ornament my mom bought for me , it says Christmas at Pawleys so I'm assuming it was bought at a Christmas store at Pawley's Island in SC . Probably mid-late 80's. I remember this was the one ornament I always looked forward to displaying on our tree. I loved it so much I took it one year and added it to my dinosaur collection, then had to take it from there to place on the tree. Reminds me of my mom, I was little blue dino she the big yellow one...I also now think of it as me and my little brother. It's have a little damage over the years but I still love it. The first time I think it's ever been photographed.

Hoorah!
( i just now realized how MASSIVE that thing is)  :o

It's really hard to appreciate the sheer size of dinosaurs without standing toe to toe with them..I can't wait to see the first kid's face that rounds the corner and sees him !

I hope that goes well, I would hate to see all that work topple over.

We're not concerned so much it will fall over..it's more, will the legs bear the weight and not collapse or splay outward with so much force on it.  This is I think the largest we can build with the materials at hand.  Tomorrow we will be bracing a LOT.

I pretty much expect this :  :) :o ;D :))

Once Rex is done we have the Velociraptors to finish and our fossil dig site.  That should give us a break before starting the Triceratops.

LOL, googly eyes again >:D At least the face is symmetrical, I guess.

Blade-of-the-Moon

True.  The head sculpt looks flawless.  The eyes remind me of the ones in most Rexes..like the JP Rex.

Two years ago,I used to go to a dinosaur exposition in Madrid for Christmas. In there, there was a life-sized animatronic replica of a Tyrannosaurus rex.It fed on a Triceratops corpse. It raised up the head and then, scavenged. My dad made a photo of me and the T.rex.It's a strange sense when the photo was made,I felt like it was going to eat me lol  :))

Aww ! That's awesome !   Was it an exhibit by Billings ? This is their Rex :

That's the reactions we're hoping to get even if ours isn't animated it will be HUGE to kids..really thrill them we hope.  I used to feel the same way when going to see the old Dinamation exhibits when I was a kid. Now with each dinosaur we raise I get a bit of that feeling back again. :)

Here's a pic of the arm getting the upper part done :

I hope we get more donations to finish this guy. We're also trying to raise funds for a juvenile Allosaurus costume, known as Little Al , to use to promote the Park.
