Oh, finally had some time to revive some of my old threads here! >:D So first up is my beloved sauropod collections.

They were one of the biggest animals that ever roamed the planet! My fascination with sauropods is what got me into the collecting hobby. When I first started, I was only collecting the sauropods.
Back then, there were not very many choices, both in species and product. There was the staple Brachiosaurus, followed by Apatosaurus and Diplodocus, and the odd Mamenchisaurus. But that was pretty much it. It was only in the last few years that more species have been added to the list. Companies like CollectA had doubled the number of species, and introduced many obscure ones.
Now, we have a dizzying number of figures to choose from. To date, I think there are about 23 species of sauropods represented in the toy line. This makes them one of the most diverse, only surpassed by the theropods.
So here they are, my beloved sauropod collection, enjoy!

A good look at the entire (well, not really since this photo was a few years old! But give you an idea >:D) This is follwed by the Diplo Brachio group

The Invicta group, followed by earlier CollectA releases

Dino King and Happinet large figures

The armored ones >:D

More CollectA, Kinto/Favorite, and others
[

The rearing ones and the newer figures
[

And the last group, a comparison and repainted ones ;)

Okay, there they all are! Sorry I had to do it in one posting. I'm not sure when I'll be able to transfer any of my old threads again, so gotta do it now.
Hope you enjoy them ;)

sauroid

really awesome collection Boki! (and that's just sauropods) cant wait to see the rest of your collection
"you know you have a lot of prehistoric figures if you have at least twenty items per page of the prehistoric/dinosaur section on ebay." - anon.

Primeval12

Who makes the one I circled and where can I get it?

I think that's the Camarasaurus resin by Jonathan Rader.

Your collection is mind-blowing, as ever, Boki. *Faints*

Metallisuchus

Wow, that's a huge collection. I can imagine your total collection must be nearing a thousand. I'd like to see your therapod collection, especially Dromies.

DinoToyForum

Stunning as always, Boki! Enough to make any collector jealous  ;)

Awesome collection. So many Sauropods...Those must take a lot of space.

Also do you have "Biology of the Sauropod Dinosaurs"?
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

postsaurischian

 ;D  DELICIOUS, Boki ..... very DELICIOUS!  ;D
I covet the bronze Kaiyodo Barosaurus.

ZoPteryx

So many Sauropods!!! :o  Great collection Boki!

I have to say, it grieves me to own that as a lover of sauropods, I actually have so few of them. Perhaps I'm too choosy.  ??? That and the space they require -- even for storage alone, never mind display.

brontodocus

Phantastic, boki, I'd say this is already a classic thread! :D

That's the FaunaCasts one by Malcolm/Dinonikes. What a superb figure! :)

Oh Lord, won't you buy me a T-rex by Krentz? My friends all have Sideshow, I must make amends.

Thanks everyone! Now I feel that I have finally made the move here! >:D
Sauropods are a pain to collect! ;D Storage and display space is a constant problem, and you can't really just put them in box, they have such long necks and tails that its impossible to do that without permanently bending them! Its a big reason why I am in the process of weeding out my collection of other dinos, to make more room for the big guys! ;D

Here are a few more I missed ;)

Where have I been?  When did Malcolm make a Brachiosaurus?   :o

brontodocus

Ah, wait, it seems I've been mistaken, could it be by Richard Rush Studios? :o So not really FaunaCasts... :-[

I have the original Rush mold for this brachiosaurus piece, and have sold quite a few of them, including this one to Boki. I was always the one who painted these up at Rush, including the first one that went to Greg Paul (it was made to try to promote the idea of making a life sized model to go outside the Smithsonian, which never happened) . I got the brachiosaurus mold along with other molds from that defunct studio that are in my in my possession (including the maquette for the 1974 Rush T. Rex) when Rush went out of business in '92. These molds that I have were saved from being tossed into a dumpster.

brontodocus

Ah, thanks for clarifying, Malcolm! :) I remembered it had something to do with you, I just thought it was also part of the FaunaCasts, initially. And just to imagine the mold would have nearly been thrown away... :o

Darnit, I don't collect resin figures cause of the price and their breakability

Yap, I pretty much stay away from most resins, I only got a few and this one was one of them (also got the Kinto desktop Amarga)

Malcolm - probably bring that beautiful Brachi back in production ;D  Its a beautiful figure, very graceful. CAn't wait to receive the other souropods from you to give this guy company ;D
