Hey Teddy, good to know you're still collecting! :)

You got yourself the set then, eh? You're a braver man than I. I'm still hoping to find blue Ovi loose, I really can't be bothered by another brown Rex. Even if it does have black spots.

Ovi looks good though. More interesting paint job tha the regular one.

You excited for the upcoming Iguanodon, Acrocanthosaurus and Polacanthus? ;)

POLACHANTUS?!!? when became that a thing?

Look the thread "Papo new for 2017"

Bigger than a camarasaurus,
and with a bite more stronger that the T-Rex bite,
Ticamasaurus is certainly the king of the Jurassic period.

With Balaur feet, dromaeosaurus bite, microraptor wings, and a terrible poison, the Deinoraptor Dromaeonychus is a lethal enemy for the most ferocious hybrid too.

Hi! Yeah, still here. But I've been extremely busy lately. Family is expanding from 2 persons to 3, so I had to decorate a room and buy a lot of stuff, build IKEA furniture etc. :) Now we only have to wait untill mid Januari..

I've bought indeed the set, but only because I want all the papo dinosaurs. I do not like this ovi version over the old one. And the brown rex is very much the same.. Just logged in here in time to see the big papo reveal, I'm a happy man today.

What do you think of Papo's 2017 dinosaurs?

I'm very happy with the new dinosaurs, as always :) I do feel a bit stupid that I've bought the Ovi/Rex set, but on the other hand, it could have turned out that the Ovi was never released loose.

What do you think of them?

You're a braver man than I. Blue Ovi could have gone the way of the Brown Running Rex. ;)

And the polacanthus is in:

funny little thing, I like it. Way more detailed than the first pictures did promise.

It's just a bit smaller than the Ankylosaurus, less aggresive. Nice and friendly dinosaur :)

suspsy

Well, it's nice to finally have another ankylosaur in the Papo line, albeit a questionable-looking one.

When I look at the face it looks shocked. Maybe it found a huge predator.  Lol Looks good. Just not a fan of purple.

Jose S.M.

It looks much better in person, but the head is still a little too helmet like.

I still maintain that this is an interesting model, look forward to seeing it in real life.

Yes the head is still very weird, but overall I like it.

Roselaar

I like it fine. Colour is a bit uniform to me, but otherwise a likable figure.

Reptilia

Thanks for posting these photos, I like it better here than on the first pics that showed up on STS forum before Christmas. Now it gives me the impression to perfectly fit Papo style. Thanks especially for the comparison with Ankylosaurus, as I suspected they look pretty nice together.

teddybier

Hi all!

I had to dig through 4 pages of collections to find my old thread, but it's still here ;D I will update the collection soon, but first let me show you some rexes:

Brown Running 2012 vs 2019:

Ordered the new brown rex last week, and found some time tonight to take photo's with the old one. I did expect the new one to be exactly the same as the 2012 version, but (at least for the model I got) it wasn't. It looks almost like a bootleg. Might be caused by the mold being 7 years old now. Less details, paintjob not on the same level as the first edition..
Ah well, I might be just complaining because the once legendary brown running rex has become not so legendary anymore ;)

Please judge for yourself. The dark one is from 2012, the one with the label from 2019:

Roselaar

Welcome back! :)

I had hoped someone would post a decent comparison of the two. I'm not surprised there are marked differences. I prefer the 2012 version, but I'll happily settle for the new release. ;)

Totally agree with you. I do not regret having bought the 2012 version of the brown rex tyrannosaurus running from Papo for a lot more money than the 2019 version of Papo. Sincerely, the limited version is much better than the current version.
