Pachyrhinosaurus

Another great piece! I really like the texture on the head. It contrasts well with the body in that it looks like a hard surface instead of loose and fleshy like the body is.

Absolutely stunning work! Thank you so much for sharing your work and allowing us to look over your shoulder as each piece progresses.  ^-^

Thank you for all the kind comments everyone! :) I really love sculpting these creatures! Im starting to get faster... Check out this Cotylorhynchus I started yesterday :) Still in major WIP stage, but progressing very fast! The "boning" is still exposed on the legs. Covering the wire with the clay, stippling the surface then baking it before applying the main clay makes for a great bond when applying the clay for the legs. it doesnt want to roll off like it does on the bare wire. I was going to post this guy before I put clay on it, but I forgot. Ill do it on the next one.

I absolutely love this little figure. It's adorable!

AcroSauroTaurus

The head could be a bit smaller, and the body could be more barrel shaped, but overall, it looks good!
I am the Dinosaur King!

Archinto

I based the armature off of a skeletal diagram, the head is actually the right size, but fleshed out. The fat neck makes it look a bit larger than it actually is. Its got a skull built to spec under the skin. :/ I may have to add a little more to the body to make it look a little closer, cause it is still a little skinny. early wip tho. But thank you for that info, itll help the end product! :)

It looks great so far. You could make a pair with one of them swimming! ;D

Archinto

That would look pretty awesome.. Maybe make a diorama base with a shelf and water feature (fake) to make the one look partially submerged. I may have to de-clay this guys ribcage and add more foil to get the needed girth, but will see. Its pretty close to the skeletal diagram I used which has a reconstructed fossil as well as an artistic reconstruction. The high walk pose takes away from how fat his belly should look, because its scrunched more on one side, but I can totally see needing to add more. :) So far this one is a big time clay user. lol

I got a bunch of work done on the Cotylorhynchus. Got all the flesh colored clay shown here all detailed and baked. The legs are just getting started with the grey, and are unbaked. I wish these photos brought out the character of the eyes more. They are a dark bronze iris and are super cool looking without being solid black. They will probably pop better once the figure is painted. Anyways, heres some pics! :)

Wow! I'm excited to see the final result!

Bigger than a camarasaurus,
and with a bite more stronger that the T-Rex bite,
Ticamasaurus is certainly the king of the Jurassic period.

With Balaur feet, dromaeosaurus bite, microraptor wings, and a terrible poison, the Deinoraptor Dromaeonychus is a lethal enemy for the most ferocious hybrid too.

Awesome! I love the frontal close up of the face, looks really good.

Just curious, will you be offering the Cotylorhynchus as a resin kit or is this one of a kind piece?
If I had the money I would have already commissioned you! Astounding work : )

Archinto

I don't currently have the funds to procure the materials I need to do casting, so I am only doing originals at this point in time. At some point though, I do plan on casting. :) Not to say that I will still have this one when it comes to that time, but I can always make another one.

Thanks for the kind comments! I just got the front legs done and am baking it. So close...... I can practically taste it!

Blade-of-the-Moon

cute and realistic little bugger...reminds me of an iguana or Galapagos tortoise from the front.

Archinto

Ha thats awesome! I actually did base the nose roughly off of what my iguanas nostrils look like. I've almost got the rear legs finished, just a little more sculpting to do. :)
