We are accustomed to look upon the shackled form of a conquered monster, but there - there you could look at a thing monstrous and free." - King Kong, 2005

Okay, I finally got the Favote set of Cambrian Creatures!
Beautiful figures and odd indeed!

Its a nice update on the older ROM set
Meet the creatures:

Wiwaxia -What an odd looking creature!

Hallucigenia - what a cool name!

Opabinia

Canadaspis - What an interesting creature! Almost looks like it has two heads!

Olenoides Trilobite

Anomalocaris

Morrella - another strange creature!

Pikaia

The group of Eight

Compared to their predecessor from ROM

Both sets are worth acquiring if you are able to.

Boki (or anyone else), can I ask for an ID on this one?

Ah, I'm afraid I don't know who the artist is. I got this one on ebay years ago, it was part of a custom collection.

I just joined DTF. I may not be super active here, since my taxonomic specialy is not overly represented in toy/figure form. But I wanted to update this thread with my prehistoric arthropods. For those of you that follow me on ATF or STS, this is a cut-and-paste from 'Blaine's Bug of the Day' (hence the extant xiphosurans...).

Anyway, onto my prehistoric arthropods collection...

The enigmatic onychophoran, Hallucigenia sparsa.

1. Kaiyodo (Dinotales)
2. Favorite Co. (Cambrian Creatures Mini Model - Burgess Shale Series)

These two figures demonstrate nicely how manufacturers will keep up with the changing science as we learn more about extinct animals. The Kaiyodo figure on the left, while detailed for the knowledge at the time, is out-of-date next to the Favorite figure to the right.

thanks BlueKrono. The Fossils TOOB was one that actually had Latin names with its paperwork! Too bad the Cave Dwellers TOOB (and others) didn't follow suit...

Welcome, bmathison! I had no idea Nayab had made an Eryon. Still like the Kaiyodo one, of course. :)

Here are a few that I don't think anyone has posted:

Baculites (CollectA)
Diplomoceras (CollectA)
Polyptychoceras (Kaiyodo)
Nipponites (Kaiyodo)
Australiceras (CollectA)
Parapuzosia (CollectA)

RobinGoodFellow, thanks for posting the Paleozoo figure. I just ordered the Eurypterus. Depending on how I like it, I might get more (they are kinda big and expensive and ship from Australia, so I might just focus on species less-commonly represented).

I posted all my extinct inverts a day too soon...in the mail today I got these three courtesy of Halochoeres: Diramix Anomalocaris and COG Opabinia and Halucigenia. Both companies are new for me!

Hi Blaine, it's cool to have you and your amazing collection here at the DTF as well :).

                                                                                    Two more pics here.

                                                                         ... and the Kaiyodo cephalopods:

                                                                                        Single pics here.

You can also order most of the Paleozoo figures directly from Shapeways ( https://www.shapeways.com/shops/trilobite ) at a lower price.
Paleozoo figures are 3D printed in Full Color Sandstone by Shapeways (they're the same figures you can find on Paleozoo website).
Eurypterus isn't on Shapeways because it's based on 2 parts assembled at Paleozoo Australia (even Hallucigenia).
My Anomalocaris is from Shapeways.
All Paleozoo models in my collection are wonderful:  https://www.flickr.com/photos/130140542@N03/albums/72157666921585522

I like the photos of the Eurypterus, but it's probably an unrealistic pose for an aquatic animal :). It's propped up like it's terrestrial.
