After that massive "Beasts of the Mesozoic" Kickstarter campaign by David Silva, these plucked unfortunates do not turn me on at all.
They're rather ridiculous ;D.
I was somewhat tempted to get this one for my JP collection, but the head seems quite shrinkwrapped, a problem not present in the JP design. I'll wait until photos of actual product are released to make my final call.

I thought the JP raptors were shrink-wrapped.

The JP3 raptors did have a bit more shrinkwrapping. With the first two movies the fenestrae were slightly visible but not very apparent, except for certain moments when the raptors would kind of 'flare' their nostrils to express emotion. Here's an example of the typical 'neutral' facial expression, without clearly-defined fenestrae.

The Horizon model kit, created directly from the movie CGI models, does not have such well-defined fenestrae either.

Preorder for the standard raptor is back up on BBTS: http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=RBR10024&mode=retail

It's a shame, as myself and others have pointed out, that these are not really that accurate to the JP velociraptor. Shrink-wrapped skull, incorrect paint scheme (for male or female). I pre-ordered the new CC break-out Rex and thought that this piece would be a high quality, screen-accurate raptor to display next to it, but looks like I was wrong. Luckily I have the old Snap-tite TLW:JP velociraptor kit (which I think is the most accurate sculpt of the JP raptor out there for a 1:20 scale) professionally painted by Martin to match an original concept diorama from the first movie :D

They might not be that accurate to JP, but they are more accurate than the Papo models. It really depends if you consider the REBOR a toy or statue/kit. From a toy perspective, these are the most true-to-film adaptations of the model. They already received Stan Winston School of Character Art's blessings. I suppose that should mean something.

P.S. I think they are required to be slightly inaccurate to film, as you've mentioned regarding the paint scheme. Perhaps, for legal reasons.  It's not like REBOR or Papo have secured the license to the film.

Glad i got em. Sadly 1 raptor was lose in his egg, needed to use glue on it. And from the other raptor 1 egg piece had fallen off the back. Seemed like the Rebor glue was faulty. But with some glue its fixed and i can only recommend the rebor eggs. The Tricertops, the Raptors and especially the t-rex.  :)

Respectfully and having purchased Rebor products and with no axe to grind I would not be happy with an obviously damaged product, when you pay for something it's reasonable to expect it to be correct...in fact I believe that UK law states products must be fit for sale!

Me too.  As soon as tomorrow comes and I pay for my pre-order, "Winston" will be on his way to a new home!

Yeayyy just preordered mine in Adopt-A-Saurus ID, they said the figure is just coming out from the factory last friday. Estimate time arrived in Indonesia is 1-2 month from now

It seems nice, but if it can't stand on it's own I'll pass.

Mo_the_Triceratops_King

Its in the shops, ordered mine from Everything Dinosaur with a lot of other Rebor stuff. My Rebor collection is then complete.  :D

Everything_Dinosaur

The 1:18 scale Velociraptor "Winston" is now in stock at Everything Dinosaur.

You can see it here: Rebor 1:18 scale Velociraptor Model

The model does have articulated forelimbs and an articulated lower jaw.  It has small, discreet pegs in the base to which the feet of the replica can be securely inserted

Everything_Dinosaur

Also in at Everything Dinosaur the limited edition "Winston and Stan" bronze effect Velociraptor models: Rebor Limited Edition "Raptors - Father and Son"

Paleo SH

I would always prefer dino model without a base plate and if it comes w a base plate
It should be detachable and the dino could stand on its own.
The base plate should ideally serve as an additional item for diorama .My personal opinion.

joossa

JC has their review up too. Looks very nice! Love the colors!

I'm pleasantly surprised that Rebor implemented peg holes at the bottom of the feet and pegs on the base. Improvements, I'd say.

I think it looks fantastic! It more or less is the best JP raptors in years. See Hasbro, this is how it's done!  :)
