Mr. Challenger

Hi guys! I'm back with another handmade replica: The wonderful Yi Qi from China.
It was a really hard animal to sculpt, so I want your opinions before to start with the last corrections on the sculpt and  before the paintjob.

Thanks!

Bucklander

Wonderful. How do you get the feathered appearance on the body?

Flaffy

Looks really good! One nitpick though, about the fingers, the base of the fingers could be closer together. But what do I know about dino anatomy. Still very nice work!  ;D

I did small scratches on the surface of the clay with a sharp tool.

Lanthanotus

Great sculpt, like the head very much.

As for the feet, if you want just this one sculpt I'd pose the feet more close to the branch as FlaffyRaptors suggested, if you'd like to cast it I'd either flatten the feet to stand on even ground or make a fitting  artifical branch you could also cast.  Persoanlly I'd also add more tail feathers (but I am not sure if four is correct for the fossil record) and pose the tail a bit less elavated. When it comes to scientific accuracy I think the third digit should be longer than the fourth, still I think that wings are very well sculpted :)

Jetoar

[Off Nick and Eddie's reactions to the dinosaurs] Oh yeah "Ooh, aah", that's how it always starts. But then there's running and screaming.

{about the T-Rex) When he sees us with his kid isn't he gonna be like "you"!?

The Yi Qi is ready now!
I made this for sell it (just like the previous OOAK figures I made and shared on this forum), but I haven't decided the price yet, so all of you are allowed to make me an offer if you are interested. I'll try to reply the private messages as soon as possible.
Hope you like it  ^-^

Thanks! I tried to paint it in the most natural way possible. Secretary birds are a great inspiration for feathered dinosaurs ^^

Wow,  it's a great sculpt! ,  really good job.  I like the painting in the tail feathers and the yellow in the face.

In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

Outstanding work as always!

Thanks for your comments Halichoeres and Ceratopsian^-^

That's lovely, the paint really brings out the feather details.  I wasn't too sure about the posture at first, but seeing completed, it looks great as it's displaying it's tail feathers.
