I didn't see a topic like this, and I figured it would be a unique one. By "battle scarred" I mean damaged figures that you still keep in your collection. These are mine, I tend to collect "scarred" figures because they're usually cheaper, and no one else is going to want them. If any of you have scarred figures, feel free to share yours! Figures with scars sculpted in them count as well. ;)

TLW Bull rex: crack in toe claw, missing eye, a few broken teeth.

TLW Thrasher rex: tear in side of jaw.

Carnegie Plateosaurus: chunk of side gone due to a lawnmower. Named him Chunk.

Papo original raptor: bitten on the face by a dog, this was one of my friends figures that he didn't want anymore. Named him Scar.

Papo Allosaurus: missing teeth, missing a thumb, broken dorsal spine, missing tip of tail. Named him Big Al.

Papo original rex: missing toes on one foot, missing a chunk of his snout, dog bites. another of my friends figures that he didn't want. Named him Bulldog.

Mysterious Bullyland Triceratops: lots of scars/damages. I know nothing about this figure, except that it was probably made by Bullyland. Tried google searching it, but nothing...

All those poor broken figures :-[, I'm glad they found a warm and loving home!  ^-^

my badly damaged figures i usually dont throw out although i dont want them in my collection (i cant stand them), i give them away to little kids who wouldnt mind the damage and dont think they are repulsive (as i do).

I've got numerous damaged figures I still keep, mostly because I can't do anything else with them. Can't dump broken stuff on others, eh? And I sure as heck won't throw them in the garbage!

My 2016 WS Carcharodontosaurus has a white nick on the tip of the snout and my Papo Rainbow Rex has a tiny chip taken out of her brow ridge. Both the result of accidental falls. I find it gives them a little character.

But on the whole, I'm pretty careful with my collection.

Sometimes I put paddings like cotton, bubble wrap and foam under the figures to prevent the claw's, tail's and toe's colours to rub off.  :P
I even put my kaiyodo yi-qi in it's own private display box to prevent it's tail feathers to snap.

Some of them look like they can be fixed with some putty. Broken figures are a great excuse to try customizing. :)

I do have many damaged figures, too. No problem for me. I keep them and give them a loving home. I don´t buy a figure which I only have damaged new.
As to the Bullyland Triceratops, I don´t know what´s "mysterious" about it. It´s the older version. They were very common here in Germany and I have one of them as well.

I might take some of them, if you want. Do you mind posting some photos on this thread and I can take a look at them?

Thanks! I had been searching for info on it for years and hadn't found a thing on it!

I only collect one of a certain figure, so I prefer to keep them as they are. :) Plus, it gives them character, just like how I always draw my dinosaurs with scars. I have repaired some of my figures: My Papo Spinosaurus when its arm broke off, and my JPS1 Dilophosaurus when its hand broke off. And I do customize figures, but only ones I have doubles of.

No thanks, I'll keep them.  ;)

Nanuqsaurus

There are no scarred figures in my ''main collection,'' but I do have a few Chinasaurs in a box somewhere with some serious battle scars! :P I remember having a Parasaurolophus missing an arm, a mammoth with his tusks pulled out and a Dimetrodon with a plastic toy carrot stuck inside his throat. Not sure if that carrot is stil in there or if we ever got it out somehow...

Ok, just thought I'd ask!  :) I would like to see some photos though, if you want to post some, this thread isn't just for my "scarred" figures after all. ;)

My only "battle scarred" or injured figure is my CollecA Muttaburrasaurus, but it came that way, it lost it's thumb somewhere on it's way to me

Brontozaurus

My WS Apatosaurus (the old rearing one) has what I'm pretty sure are chew marks on its right hind leg. I also have a AAA Stegosaurus with a missing plate. Both of these I got second hand, so I don't know what happened.

CityRaptor

I have two battle scared figures I got in a second hand store along with others.
My Inpro Stegosaurus has a broken off spike and my Schleich Classic Kammsaurier has one of its plates damaged. I also have a Dinotales Anchiceratops with broken off, but glued on horns, same with a Sega Vignetteum Triceratops. ( I also own both of these in non-broken condition, due to the seller sending a replacement of the Trike and the Anchi being a double in a set of Kaiyodos )
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark

I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

I managed to find the original safari amebelodon for sale, but it's soles were cut off, presumingly a rushed attempt to remove the glue and resell it on shelf. There were a lot of other figures there, even long retired ones, but all with the same scar.
I also found the rare line of Safari amphibians there (one with the crested newt)

I recently picked up this battle scarred beast..... I know you chronic ebay surfers probably saw it too....

This Lost World Thrasher T-Rex has seen better days. Lost a battle with a pooch I believe...

I got in a batch of magic sculpt today with this dinosaur and his muncho compatriots.... Needless to say I am seriously impressed with how awesome this compound works. It took a minute to get the hang of how it handles, but once I got it figured out, it is truly superior to polymer clay. I still have an arm and some claws to repair.

Heres the finished repair on the nose. Granted the paint isnt a perfect match, but its certainly nicer than it was before. The face has a more movie like appearance to it now than the stock figure does...

Wow, thats one beat up rex. You'll find crocodilians with parts of their snouts missing. The seller was probably going to pitch her if she didn't sell, so luckily you got a hold of her! Nice job on the big repairs, do you plan on keeping the broken toe claw, or the broken arm as they are?
