Blade-of-the-Moon

After the events in the film it will be odd if it wasn't though. At least for awhile. :/

We supposed after the marketing cg image came out it would be the original Rex back. It will be great to see her again.

I do wonder if they made another animatronic for her? It should move about the same if so.

It's also interesting it seems they have more than Rex as per the website.
The website seems contradictory in the rex department.  The thing for the dinosaur itself says that they've never seen a T. rex family feud.  The one for the T. rex Kingdom talks like the Big Rex is the only one in there.

I wonder if they will say, what they did with the other Rex's and Dino's from the other island. Or is that just going to stay a natural preserve?

Chris
To my knowledge, there was only one T. rex in the original park.  The other dinos, that's hard to say.  Obviously they're ignoring the Isla Nublar bombing story thread that was hinted at in a deleted Lost World scene and mentioned again in Jurassic Park The Game, as well as the original novel.

It sounds to me like the they have one on display and maybe others elsewhere.  According to some other mentions it seems the original Rex is problematic and difficult to deal with. We know she didn't like to be fed but preferred "to hunt/play". Colin said she had slowed a bit in her older age too. I'm sure she'll take out the I-Rex ( maybe with help) but I wonder if she is even the one we saw in the trailer. Maybe she's kept in a special area.

I think Chris meant Isla Sorna.  To my knowledge that island won't really be referenced as it doesn't pertain to the film.

The deleted scene from TLW in the boardroom made it sound like they had destroyed everything and there was a cost involved in doing so. I'm not so sure Ludlow didn't just fabricate that to get the board more on his side.

Sorry it's been a while since I've seen the movies and even longer since I read the books. I was referring to the second island used in The Lost World. I remember at the end of the movie they showed the ship carrying the Rex that rampaged through San Diego and a voice over of Hammond saying something to the effect of leaving the animals alone. Then a final scene showing the Rex family and a Pterasaur. So there where at least 3 Rex's on that island...Nubar? I honestly completely forgot about JP3. Which Island was that? the "Spinosaurus" killed 1 Rex there. So if that was the second Island then that would leave at least 2 left. At any rate, that is the island I'm referring to. Going off of screen evidence not deleted scenes.

Both TLW and JP3 take place on Isla Sorna (albeit different regions if the island). As for the three T. rex on the island, there is fan speculation that the subadult in the third film is the juvenile from TLW.

They are sort of spoilery.

Maybe if you read way into it or have already been keeping up with other spoilers. It seems from the JPL discussion most tracks titles have little to nothing to do with specific scenes.

This film is actually looking pretty promising based on the previews so far.  The story seems to be much better than the plot for JP3 which was kinda weak.

And the director telegraphing about the "Unforgiven"-like showdown between (I am presuming here, I don't know anything for sure) the hybrid critter and the original JP TRex is getting my juices flowing.  [FYI the director of this movie has confirmed that the TRex is the same one as the TRex in the original JP, and that this movie "is her 'Unforgiven' ".]

After being taken out by the Spino in JP3, I think that the TRex is going to be "regaining the title" in this one!  Those who are unhappy about the "hybrid" mutant will - probably, if I am reading the tea leaves correctly - get the satisfaction of seeing it dispatched by "The Queen".   ;)

Is it just me, or is Allosaurus being featured rather frequently?  It has a figure in the main line of figures, a minifigure, and is even depicted on the package of said minifigures.  Yet it's not on the website.  Is it part of the movie or not?

The action figure is based on the Papo one, the mini figure is based on that. JP has had Allosaurus figures before.  Unless it's a total surprise it's not in the movie.

There is a Metriacanthosaurus though, according to the website.

Will it appear in the film...?

Probably not--the website is meant to look like the site of an actual park, so the marketing team had Julius Csotonyi and others mock up several other JP dinos (as listed in various sources) to flesh it out as though it were a real park.

You can probably get a sense of what dinos will appear in the film based on the toys being made.

suspsy

You can also get a sense of which dinosaurs will appear in the film based on the quality of the art. If it looks colourful and beautiful and up to date, it's a Csotonyi painting and nothing more. If it looks like a refugee from 1993, it's in the movie.

Blade-of-the-Moon

Th etoys aren't a big help, we have a few species that are not supposed to be in the film.

Julius did say he did other dino art that hasn't been used on the site. Like Velociraptors.

Also they used Julius's art for the Parasaurolophus : http://www.jurassicworld.com/dinosaurs/parasaurolophus/

But it was recently confirmed to be in the film :

Omg, my husband just got us 2 Imax tickets to an early premier for Jurassic World! He and I will being going to see it on June 11th at 7pm. -is very excited-

Blade-of-the-Moon

Awesome!

I think I'll be seeing it in 2D first..just gotta decide if I want more comfortable seats, or better picture.

DinoLord

I've also purchased Imax 3d tickets for June 11 - I promised to myself years ago I would go see the fourth JP movie on opening day.

suspsy

As I said, I'm going to monitor this thread for feedback about the film. I will also be spoiling myself about the plot. And if I like what I read, then I'll go see it in standard format. Not a fan of 3D.

*wipes away the manly tear after hearing Sir Richard Attenborough's narration*

Short, yet fantastic trailer.
EDIT: HA!  Another one of the TV spots shows a little petting zoo.  You even see a kid hugging a baby apatosaur's neck.  ...I wanna do that...
I'm excited for REBOR's Acro!  Can't ya tell?
