Well-known palaeoartist Mark Witton (author of Recreating an Age of Reptiles) has announced that he's working on a sequel to Charles R. Knight's classic work Life Through the Ages. An ambitious project, to be sure!

Is that a Basilosaurus at 1:05 mark? If so it is the most realistic and credible reconstruction I have ever seen, cause it actually looks like a whale instead of a cross between a snake and a mosasaur. Very interesting project, can't wait to see more.

Curse this browser's inability to load plugins. Can I beg a direct link? Is this his long-fabled 'Book 3'?

Edit: aha! Book 4. Looks fantastic.
