Here's my Walking With Dinosaurs shelf and yes...I now have two of a certain figure ;D

And a Weetabix/Invicta promotional cardboard poster from the 80's.

The ornithocheirus of WWD that is a figure that must have cost you a lot of money, apart from that you have two equal copies of that magnificent figure! If you can, you can contact me to see where you found them. It's the only WWD figure that I lack in my collection.

Lanthanotus

I never really warmed up to those WWD figures cause of their uninspired neutral poses (I mean, how hard would it have been to alter the default digital model into a more interesting pose?), the one it really works for is the Ornithocheirus and it seems to be a nice model in other respects aswell. Two of those laying around... well that's lucky I guess :)

Bokisaurus

:o Wow, I can't believe you have two of those "figure"!
Your collection is amazing and well displayed. It's funny you post your WWD collection, I was just finishing up photographing mine for my next installment ;D I guess I better delay now ;D

I noticed it right off the bat. Its a beautiful figure! Who made the Iguanadon? I cant say ive seen one like that before. A nice peek into your collection there sir! Can't wait to see what else you reveal to us :)

Im not too sure who made it, I have an idea but im not sure if it's correct. Anyway it's retro and very cool, that's good enough for me.
Steve aka UK found one in the Bristol museum if im not mistaken, there was also others from the set there as well.

Is it made of a plaster or composite material or is it a polhstone type figure? Very awrsomr and honestly oneof my favorite vintage reconstruction styles. :)

Im not sure what it's made of, it's quite heavy. It's from the late 70's so it's hard finding any info about it.
Here's Steve's photo of the museum display.
These models were also used in postcards.

Is this another? This one, and several other species, is in the Access Artefacts collection of Nottingham City Museums & Galleries. They are often brought out for handling sessions at Wollaton Hall (which is when I took this photo).

Yes that one looks just like mine except the paint job is a little bit different.
They really are an amazing set, i wish i had more of them.

Some biggies there! - nice collection. Always like to see the grouped figures for a size comparison with some you may have and may want. I'd love that Kaiyodo (is it?) Triceratops next to the X-Plus Styraco. I have the Styraco and would like to add the Triceratops but the few times I've seen it online it has been frustratingly way out of my price range. Nice selection of non-Dino items as well. Thanks for sharing.

Quite an eclectic collection, I like it!  I have some of those bigger dinosaur pieces myself (and I had at one time or another, most of the items pictured, including the JP and Dino Riders toys - including the Brontosaurus - so I can really appreciate them - they still look "way cool").   ;D

Thanks and yes the Triceratops is made by Kaiyodo.
It is a bit pricey but it's a really nice model so worth it. You should take a look on Yahoo Japan auctions, their a lot cheaper on there.
It's where i got mine.

....... I would like to add the Triceratops but the few times I've seen it online it has been frustratingly way out of my price range. .......

I think you can still buy it as a kit (if that's an option for you) for a much better price.
https://kaiyodo.ecq.sc/kyd-maex002.html - I'm sure Brett could help you with it.

I realy like your 2 Happinet T-rex & Styracosaurus.

PhilSauria

Thanks postsaurischian, but I think that I may have looked into this option once before - as I recall the kit version may have been slightly different to the figure we see here. I'll have to have another look into this. Thanks for the suggestion and the link.

PhilSauria

Hmmm. Just compared a few photos I found online and it does appear to be the same, don't know where I got the impression that these were different? Is there another Kaiyodo with its head turned slightly to the side? That link you provided comes out to $60 Australian; still better than the prices out there but more than I can afford just now - but I will follow it up with Brett at a later date. Thanks again.

postsaurischian

I can assure you that it's exactly the same model because I bought it as a kit.

It just looks a bit different from the right side. The left is its chocolate side :) .

PhilSauria

Yep, I'm convinced. The blue one on the end may have been the version I was mixing this up with. Learning all the time here. Thanks.

On the one hand Schleich's pentaceratops and Safari's Americanum mammoth without paint are even better than with paint.

Paradoxically, the dinosaurs of Invicta with painting remain from the other point of view very cool.  :)
