Notosuchians are one of the most underrated groups of amniotes that ever existed, terrestrial crocodiles that evolved into all kinds of crazy ecomorphs. Here's a paper (open access!) describing a juvenile specimen of Pisarrachampsa and using it to infer that the diversity of head shapes is related to heterochrony (the differential growth of elements that results in altered adult proportions).
