Augh! Even when they try to be accurate by adding feathers, they add it to the wrong dinosaurs!
Shrek 4 is an underrated masterpiece

If Coelophysis, let alone Kulindadromeus, can have feathers, than [redacted] easily could have too.

Well, theropods both earlier and later had them, so the precedent is there. Size means ultimately little in terms of integument, as an animal trying to cool down will loose integument over areas with large muscles close to the skin, not over their entire body. The only animals we know of that lost (nearly) all of their integument did so for hydrodynamic reasons.

The lack of a horn is GREAT!

A note on the lower jaw, look closely and you can see it's black silhouette, for some reason they only highlighted the teeth area?

Wish they had widened the tip of the snout a bit more as Scott did, made more sense.

That isn't the skull of Giganotosaurus on the merchandise....
It's of Sinraptor.
Assuming of course that the picture isn't just photoshopped crap on the internet. :)
Don't you hate it when you legitimately compliment someone's mustache and she gets angry with you?

This. They somehow cut the black shadow/silhouette off on the lower Jaw on the Backback. It now looks, as if he has a Tumor on the Chin. How does this even get through Quality Control :D

We do not know if it is fanmade stuff, but wan't Jurassic Outpost working together with the Jurassic World Franchise recently? So, if they post something like that, i would assume, that its legit. But of course, i just assume. We'll see.

avatar_John @John I had a look. I guess you're right. It does look much more like that then Giganotosaurus. How odd. I wonder if this will be reflective of the film design, but at the same it is possible it isn't.

Appalachiosaurus

It's a Fukuiraptor, specifically traced from this mount:

Given that a Vastatosaurus appears on the side, I don't think we should take this as a good indication for anything the movie will have.

For JW levels this looks really good, I like the striped pattern but why did they have to mash in those osteoderms...I know JW hasn't been about realism for ages, but come on, this is not a rauisuchian (on that note, e.g Fasolasuchus would have been MUCH cooler than the Indominus and they could have still shoehorned in the camo stuff by DNA stuff). Not looking forward to how this'll affect future Giganotosaurus depictions and toys...is this their revenge for the Papo Allosaurus? lmao

I think it's their attempt to make it look different from all other theropods that came before it? I.E. unique.  It's definitely different.
That head and those white eyes? Reminds me of the blind eyed Dino Crisis one. Maybe a nod in that direction?

I'm guessing they used the old reconstruction for the head shape if not something of their own. Hard to tell. I would have preferred the new one, but that aside I like the direction they are taking it, although it is probably far off from what the real animal would have looked like. I do see a resemblance to the BaBR Allosaurus as well.

Either way it makes me all the more excited for the upcoming Mattel toy(s) of it. And also because I have been longing to one to my collection anyways. I think it'll display quite nicely alongside the Tyrannosaurus, Spinosaurus, and Indominus rex (which was even made up of its DNA), if this does in fact belong to the Giganotosaurus.

Ouch! I mean i love me some ostederms, but only when they are reasonable. Sure its cool to see big spikes, but it doesn't retain to the animal at all.  Not to mention that head is a mess!
