I've never used this feature before but I suppose it could be useful.

Based on previous years patterns I would think it possible to post a date for the new for the coming year reveals for Safari, collecta, perhaps favorite etc...or possibly members birthdays, or famous dates in paleo history ....
Authors with varying competence have suggested dinosaurs disappeared because of meteorites...God's will, raids by little green hunters in flying saucers, lack of standing room in Noah's Ark, and palaeoweltschmerz—Glenn Jepsen

Member's birthdays are already in the calendar (for those members who have shared that info).
I don't know about release dates, becase they are often revealed over the course of several weeks, or the exact day is a surprise.
Not sure about adding paleo-themed days...
