Less than $500 away from Protoceratops. And 20K away from Psittacosaurus, hope that little bugger gets funded soon.

stargatedalek

I'm honestly pretty angry. It looked like they were funded, then he decided to pull out and make the only two particularly unique ones further away.

Faelrin

Yes it's finally unlocked! I sincerely hope Psittacosaurus can get funded before this ends too. My Microraptor needs a buddy.

New package art for the Spiclypeus (and painted prototype coming later tonight est time):

I love the variety of artists on this project; I much prefer it this way as opposed to a single person doing all the packaging art. I hope David retains them all for the tyrannosaur series.

Ah I wasn't aware about the fee's and such, and sorry I did not answer the other question. I'm pretty sure you can only pay with one card on kickstarter. Yeah you'll likely have to stick with that one for now. At least most of these should be available later, like is the case with the raptors, so perhaps you'll get a chance in the future to get one.

yeah guess I could pick up one of the larger ones later on if I still really want it, but its a bummer I cant take advantage of the cheaper price now.  :-\

suspsy

The Spiclypeus is fully revealed:

https://creative-beast.com/ceratopsians/spiclypeus-shipporum/

Speaking as one of the persons who lobbied for this species (David was originally going to do Mercuriceratops), I'd say it's come out remarkably well indeed!

I'd love to see the Psittacosaurus get funded, but more than anything I'm just glad the Proto made it in time. A Protoceratops to go with the BotM Velociraptor was the real goal here for me :P

I wasn't part of the original raptor kickstarter... were the Build a Raptor kits part of the original campaign or did they come later? I'd be interested in a couple for this one, though the size and complexity of the different head sculpts make it seem unlikely.

Faelrin

Definitely going on my wishlist. I have a feeling this one would great with both the fan's choice Dromaeosaurus and Pyroraptor. It also gives me Halloween vibes.

Shonisaurus

That spiclypeus BoTM looks good and its size is not excessively large.

Faelrin

So I was not aware of this, and certainly thought it would be good to mention here for folks worried about certain species not getting funded before the campaign ends on the 17th (EST time).

To quote David in response to someone discussing the backerkit stuff:

QuoteIt is actually possible to unlock stretch goals in BackerKit, but we'll need to reach the conclusion of this Kickstarter before that process can begin.

So perhaps there is still yet hope for more to unlock, even if not before the campaign ends.

Also the Psittacosaurus is getting closer to unlocking now. Just about $13,000 less. Today's certainly had some good momentum with the Protoceratops unlocking. Hopefully it picks up even more so in the remaining 48 hours, if not now.

Edit: I knew I forgot about something. New update with some new size comparisons for the Centrosaurus and Pachyrhinosaurus (more in the link):

Gotta say these were larger then I thought. Such absolute units.

The Spiclypeus looks incredible! Though I wish the blue on the face was omitted, and if the eye spots were even more pronounced/obvious.
Not really a fan of the random brushes and splotches of blue on the BotM ceratopsians in general. Mostly when it clashes with a warm colour scheme.
I can't decide if I should get the chasmosaurus or the spiclypeus. It seems that both are just head swaps of one another, so it wouldn't be wise to purchase both of them, as they're essentially the same figure.

terrorchicken

just spent over 3 hours trying to get my visa vanilla card to work. It just keeps giving me a red pop up error message saying to try again. The card is activated, has zip code assigned. No idea whats going on. Ill try calling Kickstarter tomorrow, its late. ::)

Faelrin

The more I look at those eye-spots the more they look like this emote to me: ಠ_ಠ

Either that or some style of anime eyes I guess.

ZoPteryx

I don't really see the Leopard Gecko inspiration, but that doesn't stop it from being one of the best paint schemes of the collection, imho.

And thank you for doing that! An excellent choice.  ^-^

As I recall, they were part of the campaign, although as a late addition.  I'd like a build-a-ceratopsian kit too, but David has previously said he's not planning one at this point.  Hopefully he'll change his mind, maybe include them as part of the seemingly inevitable second ceratopsian campaign.

Finally the card worked this morning. Still wish I could have gotten one of the larger figures I actually wanted, oh well.  ::)

70 hours before the end of the Kickstarter, and 10K away from the Psittacosaurus.
Here's to hoping that the ceratopsian campaign will get a big boost by the final 48 hours.

I don't think we'll get a big boost like the raptors did, but we'll continue to see pledge numbers increase like we started seeing over the weekend. We'll unlock the Psittacosaurus, for sure, but I wouldn't expect us to get beyond $20,000 - $30,000 more over the next 3 days. I would be genuinely surprised if pledges increase $50,000+ in the final days.

ZoPteryx

The campaign is definitely packing on more funds than it had been, day three is half over and it's gone up by about 3K.  At this point last year though, the raptor campaign was raising about triple that.  I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.  The Psittacosaurus should be unlocked sometime tomorrow, but beyond that I don't know.  Maybe David will consider unlocking the Regaliceratops early as it's only a head swap with the subadult Trike...

Also, new update showing the Xenoceratops and Albertaceratops package art.  They've also been added to the main campaign page.

Aaaaand, David says the following:
QuoteTomorrow we'll take a look at an updated Sinoceratops as well as a few items that have yet to be shown.
